She recently confirmed her romance with beau Andrew Watts, after being pictured leaving The Fashion Awards afterparty with the music producers.

And while loved-up Rita Ora was not with her beau for the AOL Build interview, the star still managed to make a statement in a psychedelic ensemble.

The 27-year-old popstar donned a multicoloured fitted midi dress as she arrived at the event in New York City on Thursday.

Rita rocked the form-fitting dress covered in various colored detailing, with yellow, blue, red and pink panels, with a thigh-high split allowing the star to show even more of her stunning legs.

The Hot Right Now songstress accessorised with metallic gold heels and chunky gold hoop earrings, and was also seen donning the tan vinyl coat the star had been rocking earlier in the day.

Speaking at the event, Rita admitted she was stunned by the attention she received after wearing a bathrobe on the red carpet at the MTV EMAs in November.

'This has like blown up, it’s crazy!' She said. 'I was like…I’m hosting this whole show. It was a 2-hour live show, and I was like so nervous.

'The last thing I wanted to do was, like, squeeze into this dress on the red carpet. I was changing like 150 times on the actual show. Everyone was like "you’re crazy"– and then look what happened!'

Rita's appearance came a day after confirming her romance with producer Andrew Watts, with speculation rife after the couple were spotted together on numerous occasions.

Despite the pair having been spotted enjoying a romantic getaway to Rome in October of last year, Rita has stayed mum about their relationship and had notably kept him away from her social media accounts until Tuesday night.

And a source told MailOnline that it is all a part of her efforts to keep her romance under wraps, explaining: 'Rita has kept her relationship with him very private and out of the spotlight... This is the first time she has posted anything about him.'

Her low-key Instagram revelation came hours after Jane Park - who found fame after scooping £1million on a EuroMillions lucky dip ticket - hit out after Rita was seen cosying up to the UFC-fighter-turned-boxer Conor McGregor in a snap she captioned 'date night'.

Rita was at the centre of a social media storm after posting the snaps on Monday night, though a spokesman said the star meant the comment in association with the night as a whole.

The spokesman said: 'Date night is a figure of speech, Rita also posted selfies with Donatella Versace as her real date and one with Jourdan Dunn as her date.'

Speaking at the AOL Build event, Rita revealed all about her collaboration with The Open Mic Project to incorporate fans' stories into a new song.

She said: 'It's very hard being a singer and a female singer, especially now everything is so sensitive and it's a very difficult time in the world to make sure what you say is said correctly.

'Everything is so easily misinterpreted nowadays, and I really wanted to show people who submit to this it's OK to be open and express yourself.'
