Billy Bush and estranged wife Sydney are 'working towards a reconciliation' after splitting in part over the infamous 'grab them by the 'p****' Trump tape

  • Billy Bush and Sydney Davis separated in September after 20-years of marriage
  • Bush was spotted still wearing his wedding ring while in hospital last week
  • The are reportedly moving towards reconciliation after their four month split
  • Billy's lawyer confirmed the split at the time, Davis was said to be still angry over his now infamous taped conversation where Trump said 'grab them by the p****'
  • This week, Bush was photographed holding hands with his former Access Hollywood colleague Tara Bernie
  • Bernie and a rep for Bush called any speculation on their relationship ridiculous, adding they are friends, and have worked together for years

Billy Bush and his wife Sydney Davis, who separated in September are reportedly working to repair their marriage. The couple lives in New York.

'They are trying to reconcile and it seems like they're making progress. They're working on it,' a source claimed to Page Six. Bush and Davis have been married for 20 years.

However earlier this week, Bush, 46, was photographed holding hands with former 'Access Hollywood' colleague Tara Bernie.

Anything more than a friendship was strongly denied, however.

Bernie said the hand hold was completely innocent. 'We're friends. I was his producer for 15 years at 'Access'… He was walking me to get my Uber,' she said.

It appears that Bush's wedding ring never came off. Last week he shared a photo of himself in hospital recovering from being struck by a golf ball, with his band still on.

He was also pictured with his estranged wife leaving church two weeks ago and heading to lunch. Both Bush and Davis were wearing their rings on that occasion.

It has been a tumultuous time for the father-of-three after losing his hosting job on NBC's Today after the now infamous p****gate scandal with Donald Trump first emerged.

He did manage to secure a reported $10million severance package from NBC in the wake of the infamous 2005 Access Hollywood tape.

Bush was recorded laughing along in a 2005 video as Trump - then a newly-wed businessman with no public political ambitions - told how he grabbed women 'by the p****'.

News of Bush and Davis' split came almost a year after the tape emerged.

'I can confirm they are now separated and on a short-term break,' Bush's lawyer Marshall Grossman said in a statement in September.

His lawyer also denied at the time that the split was a result of infidelity.

The split happened over a year after after Bush lost his hosting job on NBC's Today after the now infamous p****gate scandal with Donald Trump first emerged.

At the time the tape was released, Bush's wife was furious.

'She was so furious that she refused to speak with him for a while - and she's still furious. They are having marriage problems. He didn't apologize to her for the embarrassment he caused in his statement,' a source told Page Six.

The tape was leaked before the 2016 election and threatened to thwart the Republican's chances.

Trump apologized for the tape after it was leaked, but caused outrage when he called it 'locker room talk'.

Bush, on the other hand, lost his job before he could go back on air to apologize for the tape - an opportunity he said he would have relished.

'Obviously I'm embarrassed and ashamed,' Bush said in a statement apologizing for his role in the recording. 'It's no excuse, but this happened 11 years ago - I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I'm very sorry.'

A source said Davis was '10,000 per cent out of there' and that Bush was 'not a victim', but his lawyer downplayed those rumors.

'It is not true that Billy's wife has left him,' his statement read.

'After almost 20 years of marriage, they have separated for the moment to evaluate their life together. They love each other and their children deeply and are committed to a bright future.'

Bush and Davis wed in April 1998 and have three children: Josie, 18, Mary, 16, and Lillie, 12.
