Even her parents, Dina and Michael Lohan - who divorced in 2005 after 22 years of a tumultuous marriage - are reuniting for a big family Christmas in Long Island.

'I think this is going to be our first full family Christmas dinner… in a long time,' she told us. 'Mom, dad, all the family, both grandmothers, Italian, Irish, everyone at dinner.

'It's going to be loud but good, I’m happy.'

The Lohans have been working to put their past behind them in recent years after their messy divorce turned up allegations of alleged abuse and unpaid child support. Now it appears they may finally have buried the hatchet - just in time for Christmas.

Lindsay has also had a somewhat fraught relationship with her father and in 2006, she described him to Vanity Fair as a destructive and violent force with a drug and alcohol problem. For years, she kept him at arm's length on the advice of her management but always wanted a better relationship, the Daily Beast reported.

This will be the first Christmas in years that the family has been reunited.

Lohan added that the dinner was planned for Long Island, and after getting used to the finer things in life, her expectations were high.

'I've been going to Michelin Star restaurants these days so every place I go to I go to Michelin star restaurants, so I want to do little plates,' she added.

Luxe up your look in leather trousers by J Brand like Lindsay

Like a little black dress, leather trousers are a bit of a wardrobe must have.

This high end look is beloved of everyone from Kendall Jenner to Gigi Hadid and Lauren Silverman to Pixie Lott and has become the uniform of off duty models going about their down time in style.

Leather is expensive so your outfit is immediately imbued with a touch of luxe while it simultaneously adds edge thanks to some serious rock chick connotations. And slinky black skinny styles are ideal for leaning out your silhouette.

Lindsay Lohan is the latest celebrity fan and was spotted in this pair by J Brand which she styled with a sequined top by Alexandrine l'Amor, a bomber jacket and platfor, ankle boots.

Lohan led the red carpet at the Unwrap The Holidays 2017 party - which was headlined by rapper Flo Rida - and had celebrity guests such as Million Dollar Listing's Ryan Serhant, stars of Real Housewives of New York 'Countess' Luann de Lesseps and Dorinda Medely and of course, none other but dashing DailyMailTV host Jesse Palmer.

'Everything and anyone, find out about this party, this is whats going on!' Flo Rida told DailyMail.com ahead of his performance.

Lohan was not only a fan of the event, but also praised the Daily Mail for its veracity, something she claimed was increasingly important in the current climate.

The 31-year-old said: 'I appreciate the Daily Mail because they tell the truth you know - it doesn't always have to be negative - and you don’t have to find something that doesn’t exist, they are very honest in their actions and what they post, and I respect that, and I admire that, especially with all the media and the world we live in right now.'

Lohan attended the party just a few hours after sitting down with DailyMailTV's Jesse Palmer to talk about how she's doing and what's next.

'I'm good, I'm really happy, I'm in a really good place,' said the star. 'I love life!'

The former child star also talked about how she wants to give people more 'hope' and that is why she will be traveling to Yemen soon.

'Those people need more hope, I want to help,' said the siren. 'I really like to give back.'

At the party, she added she 'really would like to explore the idea of bringing in more media about what is going on with children and civil rights.

'When you turn on the news in America, you only see bad things, but there are good things... to explore and I feel blessed enough to go to these countries in poverty and help change laws.'

She added that she's been working with a family in Istanbul and that 'talk(s) to them everyday.

'It's three kids and their father and their mother that we got back to them, and they are really close to my heart.

'I'm planning a trip to Yemen so we’ll see what happens. I don't like to say when I’m going it's better I just show up, I just want to go in and I want to understand it before I discuss it.'

During her sitdown with Jesse, she also discussed working in Hollywood films again.

The Freaky Friday star said: 'Acting will always be a big part of my future.'

Lindsay shocked fans when she moved to Dubai after years in London. But she said the attraction is obvious: 'You can really live your life there.'

The Herbie: Fully Loaded star added that she doesn't get photographed in the city and has more privacy.

And the New York native also addressed that time in her life when she was getting on trouble with the law.

'Everyone has their ups and downs but I lived mine for everyone to see.

'You can have moments in your life where you don't really know what you want,' added the icon, 'and there's a way through that.'

She will also be working on a new project in 2018, Lindsay hinted.

'There's a book that I found called The Honeymoon, I was reading it over this summer. I want to make it into a series or movie.'

And she is also launching a lipstick and fragrance line with a nifty LL logo.

When Jesse tells the star that the 20 year anniversary for her movie The Parent Trap is coming up, Lindsay says, 'Thank you for reminding me. I didn't even think about that. It was my first movie so I have the best memories of it.'

And asked if the cover girl would like to be in Mean Girls the Broadway musical, she shot back: 'I would rather do Mean Girls 2 the Movie.'

Palmer also asked Lohan what she thought when Tina Fey said she wanted to 'adopt' her. Lindsay wasted no time before shooting back: 'I love Tina Fey so come on adopt me, you can do it in the movie!'

As far as the haters out there, the screen favorite said: ''You're stuck with me I'm not going anywhere.'

Never one to shy away from the issues, she recently weighed in on the Harvey Weinstein scandal again.

The Parent Trap star had been criticized for standing up for the 65-year-old disgraced producer, who has been accused of sexually assaulting and harassing multiple women. She had tweeted she felt 'very bad' for him and called on his wife to 'take a stand and be there for her husband.'

'And he's never harmed me or did anything wrong to me. We've done several movies together, and so I think everyone needs to stop. I think it's wrong. So stand up.'

She has since responded to the criticism by insisting she stands for women's rights and complaining that 'no one cared' when she accused her former fiance Egor Tarabasov of abusing her.

Lohan previously alleged that her former partner - whom she split with in 2016 - had hit her, and accused him of attacking her during a vacation on a Greek island, which he later denied.

The star has since slammed Hollywood for turning a blind eye to her allegations, despite actors and actresses banding together to condemn Weinstein.

Lohan posted a screenshot of herself from the 1998 movie The Parent Trap on Instagram and wrote 'Whatever anyone says, I am FOR #womenempowerment as if most women in America cared how I was abused by my ex-fiancé…when not one person stood up for me while he was abusing me (sic)'

Lindsay has since amended the caption and removed all mentions of abuse allegations, so it now reads: Whatever anyone says, I am FOR #womenempowerment#strongwoman #BESTRONG #karma will always takes its toll #womensrights (sic)'

Lohan's DailyMailTV interview airs on Wednesday evening.
