She's a critically acclaimed actress who knows how throw herself into any role.
And Nicole Kidman put on a killer show as she channeled a possessed woman in a hair-raising photo shoot for New York Times Magazine.
The actress, 50, was being honored as one of the Greatest Performers of 2017 by the magazine as she screamed against the wall and writhed on the floor beside shattered ceramic.

The horror-themed issue honors the 10 best actors of the year with a video and photo shoot shot by world-renowned director and photographer Floria Sigismondi.
Other honorees include Jake Gyllenhaal, Saoirse Ronan, Tiffany Haddish, Daniela Vega, Cynthia Nixon, Daniel Kaluuya, Timothee Chalamet, Andy Serkis and Brooklynn Prince.
Kidman was chosen for her work in the film The Beguiled.
The dramatic thriller, co-starring Elle Fanning and Kirsten Dunst, tells the story of the jealousy and betrayal that is sparked by the arrival of a wounded Union soldier's arrival at a girls school during the Civil War.

'Nicole Kidman is a great actress,' said NYT film critics. 'I feel like movies that are not great movies, are vessels for great performances by Nicole Kidman.'
'She's not a face actress,' he continued. 'Everything that seems to come out of her, comes from every place else in her body.
'There is something about her that is simultaneously very, very alive and very, very corpse-like.'
