Security and body camera footage released Friday shows the moments leading up to a father-of-five being shot by police. Pedro Pierre was killed by a sheriff's deputy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Wednesday when police responded to a disturbance at an apartment.  The footage from the officer's body camera footage shows the deputy entering an apartment and running into the 42-year-old. The two then get into a fight, with the officer using a taser and baton to attempt to subdue Pierre before a second officer intervenes and shoots Pierre dead.

Donald Trump voraciously drinks Diet Coke, is addicted to watching news and uses TV to manipulate his own moods, insiders say. The windy snow flurries didn't dissuade Ivanka Trump as she and husband, Jared Kushner, embarked on their weekly couples jog on Saturday in Washington DC (main). Both Ivanka (right) and Jared wore black workout ensembles as they were tailed by the Secret Service. It was in contrast to First Lady Melania Trump who opted to stay inside the White House and post a picture looking out at the lawn (inset).

The world premiere of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" opened with a squad of Stormtroopers and droids among the early arrivals. In addition to the Stormtroopers, a group of elite guards clad in red and some of the franchise's most recognizable droids, C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB-8 made their way down the red carpet. They passed cheering fans, some clutching Porg toys and others snapping images with their smartphones. The premiere was held at the Shrine Auditorium near downtown Los Angeles. It was the first time anyone other than select VIPs were able to see the eighth installment in the core Star Wars franchise, which follows the adventures of the Skywalker clan. "The Last Jedi" includes the return of Luke Skywalker, who was only seen briefly in 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," and the final performance of late actress Carrie Fisher. Maria Menounos has shared a video of herself laying in her hospital bed as she recovered from her brain surgery. The video (seen right and inset) was taken just one day after Maria underwent the surgery six months ago. 'It was hard to keep my eyes open bc i was seeing double at this point,' she wrote as her friend Alyssa helped feed her as she lay in her hospital bed.'

Kelsey Grammer, star of Cheers and Frasier, has revealed the personal heartbreak he still feels following the brutal murder of his sister Karen in 1975, pictured together right. In a moving interview with BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Grammer says that he honors his sister’s memory by ensuring her killer, inset, remains behind bars. Grammer, 62, said: ‘I have learnt to forgive. I have even told the guy I forgive him, although I don’t advocate his freedom. I don’t think that is reasonable.’

One of Bryan Singer's alleged lovers has pulled back the curtain on his relationship with the beleaguered X-Men director — a relationship he claims involved fancy dinners, set visits and easy access to drugs and sex. 'It was a never-ending supply of cute young men,' Bret Tyler Skopek, 22, right, told Deadline in an exclusive interview, in which he opened up about his year-long relationship with Singer. Then 18, Skopek said that he initially met Singer — dressed up as a Catholic priest — at a 2013 Halloween party a month after he arrived in Los Angeles, but that he didn't know who the director at the time. In December 2013, had his second encounter with Singer at a birthday party dinner that Singer threw at Nobu Restaurant. Skopek recalled that Singer had boasted about spending $1,000 on the dinner bill that night, then invited him, along with two other young men at the party, back to his house on Sunset Strip.

Camouflage is a useful tool for the British Army as they head into combat. But during a training exercise, one soldier proved how, despite having the right lighting, they can still be spotted easily. This misty image, taken at a Section Commander’s Battle Course in Wales, was posted on the British Army's Twitter account. In a caption, they wrote: 'Camouflaged in woodland on the Section Commander’s Battle Course in Wales… can you spot the soldier in this image?' However, despite the soldier's best efforts, several eagle-eyed followers quickly identified his hiding place from his helmet. Military cross holder, James Deegan, wrote underneath the tweet: 'Yep rear pouch undone slight shine from his mess tin. Failure to get basics right get you clipped.'

The man arrested and accused of beating a Hawaiian house cleaner to death has a history of domestic abuse, court documents reveal. Stephen Brown, 23, and his girlfriend Hailey Kai Dandurand (pictured together left), 20, were taken into custody late Thursday after Telma Boinville (top right) was found beaten to death with a baseball bat inside a Honolulu holiday home.  The couple were tracked down by police after they allegedly sped off in the dead woman's vehicle.  And court documents acquired by KITV show that in June Brown was arrested after his former girlfriend claimed he abused her. A GoFundMe was started for the victim's eight-year-old daughter Makana, and it has already raised more than $50,000.

Located on sleepy Yarmouth Road in the well-heeled Toronto neighbourhood of Seaton Village, the property, reportedly rented by the show, was home to Meghan for several years. The open-plan house, which is described by the estate agents as ‘luxe’, boasts a cinema room, a high-spec kitchen-diner, three sumptuous bedrooms and two bathrooms.

I will not take off my clothes anymore for a empty cause'

Shoppers looked on in disbelief as the teen awkwardly filled shopping baskets with bottles of Blue Raspberry and Strawberry Lemonade Svedka at a Safeway in Santa Rosa, California. 'This guy is for sure gonna pay for all this,' the anonymous cameraman quips as he films the gangly teen stumbling down the aisle carrying his overloaded shopping baskets. A store manger approaches the teen straight away and firmly 'offers' to carry the baskets for him.

The makers of acclaimed TV drama The Crown faced a barrage of criticism last night over ‘a monstrous lie’ blaming Prince Philip for the death of his sister. In a tragedy that has always haunted Philip (pictured inset as a student at the public school of Gordonstoun) his sister Princess Cecile (right), eight months pregnant with her third child, was killed in a plane crash in 1937 while flying from Germany to London. But the writers of the Netflix series, which chronicles the Queen’s life, have invented a scene in which Philip’s father cruelly turns on him at the funeral, saying: ‘You’re the reason we’re all here burying my favourite child.’ Royal historian Hugo Vickers called it a ‘monstrous lie’ adding: ‘This is a truly shocking invention since Prince Philip had nothing to do with his sister’s air flight to Britain. He was in no way responsible for the accident.’

The American woman who brutally murdered her heavily pregnant neighbour and then kidnapped her baby is 'obsessed with serial killers', her Aussie husband revealed. Brooke Lynn Crews (pictured left) was charged over the death of 22-year-old Savanna Greywind (right) in North Dakota on August 19. She then allegedly took her healthy newborn son home and told partner William Hoehn (inset) that the infant was theirs. The state of the young woman's body, which was later found in a Minnesota River, showed signs of 'homicidal violence', and Greywind's baby was then found at the apartment of Crews and Hoehn.

Two hikers were rescued from the everglades Friday morning after being lost and living off of swamp water for seven days.  Ryan Crowder (inset right), 25, and Tom Rieker (inset left), 24, lost the trail they intended to take in the Big Cypress National Preserve on December 1 - forcing them to walk 32 miles in waist-deep water, according to Wink News.  The lifelong friends were planning on hiking the entire 1,300-mile Florida Scenic Trail when they lost their map and their way in Collier County.  They were found four miles fourth of mile marker 63 on Interstate 75 on Friday by the Collier County Sheriff's Office, who conducted a helicopter search with the National Park Service and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Apple's new 'spaceship' campus might have cost as much as $5billion, according to Santa Clara County's tax assessor. Assessor Larry Stone told the San Jose Mercury News that he estimated the cost for the Cupertino, California campus to be the figure. Simone Askew, 20 (inset), made history as the first African-American woman to lead the 'march on' of West Point cadets an Saturday's Army-Navy college football game. As first captain, Askew (left and top right) led a roughly 4,400-member Corps of Cadets onto the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia prior to the game. This match marked the 118th meeting between the Army Black Knights of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, and the Navy Midshipmen (bottom right) of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. Army held off Navy 14-13 to win the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy for the first time since 1996. In the march-on at the Army-Navy game, uniformed West Point cadets and Naval Academy midshipmen take the field in formation in what has become a traditional display of military pageantry.

Sketches straight from the scrapbook of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs inker Ingeborg Willy could deal for up to $10,000 at a New York City auction. The rare December 21 sale comes precisely one week before the 80th anniversary of the 1937 romantic German folk tale's premiere. It will be held at Swann Gallerie, located at 104 E 25th St, 6, according to the specialist auctioneer's website.

The tombs were found across the Nile from the southern city of Luxor in the 1990s by German archaeologist Frederica Kampp. However, she had only reached the entrance gate and 'never entered', the antiquities ministry said. It said that both tombs, which were given numbers by Kampp, were likely to date back to dynasties of the New Kingdom, which lasted several centuries until about 3,000 years ago.

These amazing pictures capture the moment a mountain bike rider nearly suffered a catastrophic collision with one of the animals as he raced down a rocky track in South Africa. The zebra had peeled off from its herd and careered into the cyclist’s path – but luckily it galloped past in a cloud of dust a split second before the shocked rider arrived, leaving both thankfully unscathed. The shots were taken in South Africa by photographer Zoon Cronje while he was covering the annual 300-mile Cape Pioneer Trek cycle race.

In an adorable video a pooch struggles to free herself from a chunk of ice that got stuck to the bottom of her lower jawr. The Shih Tzu tries getting the ice cube off repeatedly and almost gives up. But determined, Leah the dog bites the ice off her mouth, happy and satisfied. It is unknown where the video was filmed but it is believed to be in the US.
