Outlander: Claire Fraser's conflict with fellow time traveller Geillis reaches fever pitch in Jamaica for nail-bitting season three finale of Starz series

Claire Fraser faced off against fellow time traveler Geillis on Sunday's season finale of Outlander. 

The season three finale opened with Claire [Caitriona Balfe] submerged with a rope around her.

'Everything around me was a blinding white. And there was a soft rushing sound like the wings of angels. I felt peaceful and bodyless. Free of terror. Free of rage. Filled with a quiet happiness,' she said in a voice over.

The final installment of the Starz series then cut to Claire searching the Jamaican plantation owned by Geillis Abernathy for Young Ian.

Claire stumbled upon the body of a young man, but it wasn't Young Ian. 

It was all a plan as she was then abducted by one of Geillis's henchmen.

Geillis meanwhile was interrogating Young Ian about the sapphire, but she stopped after learning about Claire's arrival.

Claire claimed to be lost after her husband Jamie [Sam Heughan] was taken into custody.

'You're welcome anytime. We're friends,' Geillis said.

They played coy with each other as Gellis became unhinged about the sapphires and the prophecy.

Claire revealed that she traveled through the stones for the sake of of their unborn child and showed Geillis a photograph of Brianna.

'A 200-year-old baby. Imagine that,' Geillis said as she put together the prophecy involved Bree.

Geillis took the photo and then had Claire sent away.

Lord John Grey then stepped in on Jamie's behalf and asserted authority over Captain Leonard freeing him from custody.

Jamie then tracked down Claire and they began searching for Young Ian.

They followed the sound of drums and came across a ceremonial dance similar to one at Craigh Na Dun that Claire previously witnessed.

After being spotted and brought out, they were reunited with Mr. Willoughby and his new romantic interest Margaret.

Margaret tried her seer abilities on Claire and Jamie and apparently channeled Bree.

'I knew it was you, my father, I've been dreaming about you, I love you,' Margaret relayed.

'You too mama,' she said to Claire.'Oh no. The monster, don't let it take me. Help me, help me.

Claire then realized that the cave is a portal like Craig Na Dun and Geillis plans to travel to 1968 and kill her daughter to fulfill the prophecy.

Jamie and Claire rushed to the cave and found Youn Ian bound for sacrifice and Geillis using the photo of Bree and other items for her time travel.

A slave named Hercules tussled with Jamie while Claire and Geillis confronted each other.

Claire grabbed a blade and swung at Geillis striking deeply into her neck leaving her head hanging off.

Jamie, Claire and Young Ian then left after freeing Hercules.

Claire also realized that the body she examined in 1968 with Joe Abernathy was that of Geillis.

Jamie and Fraser back on the ship engaged in a sex session filled with dirty talk.

They woke up to a storm that prompted both of them to help out on the upper deck where Claire was washed overboard.

The episode then referenced the show's beginning as Claire sank into the water.

Jamie jumped in and rescued her and they washed up on a beach.

The girl's parents walked over and revealed the rest of the Artemis survivors were nearby.

They asked which island they were on and the season ended with Jamie and Claire finding out they've landed in Georgia.
