'You start to learn how to parent together': John Legend on how Luna has changed his relationship with pregnant wife Chrissy Teigen

He's preparing to become a proud parent once again when he and wife Chrissy Teigen welcome their second child into the world next year.

And John Legend opened up on being a father and his wishes for his children's future during a VIP tasting of his LVE Wines Collection held at The Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The Grammy-winning musician, 38, told DailyMail.com he and model Chrissy, 32, are 'learning how to parent together' as they navigate this new stage of their decade-long relationship with precious daughter Luna, 19 months.

Show your soft side in a velvet dress by Rhea Costa

The 2017 GQ Men Of The Year Party wasn't just all about the boys this year.

Emily Ratajkowski ruffled a few feathers in an outfit by Prada, Gal Gadot looked ladylike in red Dior and Chrissy Teigen showed off her blossoming baby bump in a blush pink velvet gown, which is by Rhea Costa.

We love the wrap over shape of this dress, which Chrissy wore off the shoulder and teamed with a Tyler Ellis clutch. And if you think the front is beautiful, you should see the back - it features a crystal embellished mesh panel which is just dreamy!

Click (right) to buy it in several different colours. Fans of the brand include Gigi Hadid, Vanessa Hudgens and Ciara, who has in fact worn the black version of this dress so you'll be in good company!

Or vamp it up in one of the velvet dresses we've picked out for you in the edit below. You can't go too far wrong with a bargain buy from Boohoo...

John explained: 'I don’t know that [parenting] brought a lot of surprises. You’re just learning new things every day.

'Part of it is learning how to parent together. Even though Chrissy and I have been together for a long time, we haven’t been parents together until last year.

'So I think you start to learn how to parent together. [You figure out] what kind of responsibilities you want to share and take on.

'It’s really just fascinating watching the human mind develop and see what they pick up like and how quickly they pick it up.'

The All Of Me hitmaker and the Sports Illustrated cover girl enlisted the help of their adorable daughter Luna when they announced Chrissy's pregnancy in late November.

And John said seeing their little girl develop and reach new milestones is a real high-point of the couple's parenting journey.

He added to DailyMail.com: 'When they start walking and when they start crawling and how excited you get when they just turn over for the first time by themselves.

'There's all these little milestones that might seem silly to people that don’t have kids that are really exciting to us.

'I think just watching her grow has been the most exciting thing, and when you start to see their little personalities develop. It’s really cool.'

The doting dad shared that he would be proud of his children no matter what they chose as a profession in the future, whether that's following in their parents' footsteps or picking a totally different path.

John does admit to being extra proud when his little girl plays an instrument.

'I want them to just find what they’re passionate about, commit to it and really get into it,' he explained.

'Whatever it is, I will support them. I love when Luna plays around on the piano and I love when she plays with the little toy microphone that my friend bought her for her birthday.

'So I get excited when it looks like that she’s following in my footsteps.

'But she’s also excited in the kitchen when Chrissy is cooking. She has her own little play kitchen, so who knows what she’s going to want to do when she’s older?

'Maybe she’ll be an engineer? Maybe she’ll be a computer programmer? I just want her to know that it’s all available to her and that we’re going to encourage her and support her no matter what.'

When it comes to relaxing, the singer admitted he loves sipping his Cabernet while watching reality television at home.

While the couple have yet to confirm the sex of their baby, in January Chrissy hinted that their second baby would be a boy.

'A little boy is next for sure,' Chrissy told Entertainment Weekly, in response to questions about plans to grow her family with husband John.

'We have one on ice,' she added. 'So I assume it's the boy.'
