Wonder Woman's Patty Jenkins is 'finalizing deal' to sign on for sequel... which will make her highest-paid female director in Hollywood
More than two months after its debut, Wonder Woman 2 is gearing up for a return to the silver screen.
Director Patty Jenkins is in final negotiations to direct the second installment of the historic franchise, according to Deadline. Once she signs the deal, Patty will become the highest-paid female director in Hollywood.
The female-centric Warner Bros Pictures film opened to $103.2 million earlier this year and went on to gross more than $800 million worldwide.

Go for Givenchy red like Gal Gadot
It seems like every celebrity in the world is living it up in Cannes at the moment but in Hollywood there was a premiere to attend for the stars of Wonder Woman.
And Wonder Woman herself looked rather erm, wonderful in this show stopping gown by Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci. It's part of the luxury label's AW17 collection, a line that is entirely red.
All that scarlet reminds us of something out of The Handmaid's Tale to be honest and we find it a little spooky but it definitely makes a statement. But back to Gal. This dress, with its sparkling sequins and cut out halter neck is perfect for making an entrance so we've found some similar maxis to help you recreate the look in the real world.
Fame & Partners has our top pick or there's a glammed up red sequin version available by Dress The Population.
A studio source said they were 'confident the deal will be reached soon' to bring Patty back to the franchise.
Wonder Woman premiered in Shanghai on May 15, 2017 and gave Jenkins the biggest domestic opening of all-time for a female director.
Jenkins also became the first female director of an American studio superhero movie.

The box office smash was widely acclaimed by critics and re-invigorated a slumping DC Universe.
Wonder Woman is the highest-grossing movie directed by a woman, surpassing previous record holder Mamma Mia! by Phyllida Lloyd.
In addition, the movie set various box office records including becoming the largest opening for a female-led comic book film and has one of the few films to reach $400 million in North America.
Wonder woman: Gal Gadot portrays Diana Prince
Warner Bros confirmed at last month's Comic-Con that Gal Gadot will be returning as heroine Diana Prince for the second film.
Wonder Woman is the fourth installment of the DC Universe, which launched early last year with Zack Snyder’s Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.
Snyder introduced most of the major superheroes in the DC Universe in 2013 with Man of Steel.
Jenkins also wrote and directed crime drama Monster in 2003 starring Charlize Theron.
