Three Billboards and Lady Bird are the movies to beat as Screen Actors Guild nominations are announced... with Big Little Lies and Glow leading the TV category

The 24th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced on Wednesday morning live from West Hollywood.
Big Little Lies, Stranger Things and GLOW each scored four nods on the TV side. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri landed four nominations and Lady Bird received three for film.
The 2018 SAG Awards, hosted by Kristen Bell, will air January 21 on TNT and TBS.

Offbeat but winning: Ladybird also got nods; the movie stars Saoirse Ronan and Beanie Feldstein

These nods come just two days after the Golden Globe nominees were announced.
The top category - Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture - went to The Big Sick, Get Out, Ladybird, Mudbound and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Move over: The two stars of Feud: Bette And Joan - Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon - will go head to head in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series slot
Good call: GLOW with Marianna Palka, Jackie Tohn, Ellen Wong, Sunita Mani, Alex Rich, and Britt Baron received four nominations
Royal move: The Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series went to The Crown (pictured), Game of Thrones, The Handmaid’s Tale, Stranger Things and This Is Us
Allison Janney and Margot Robbie were nominated for their film I, Tonya
There were not too many surprises in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category.
Judi Dench for given a nod for her work in Victoria & Abdul as did Sally Hawkins for The Shape of Water.
The list was filled out by Frances McDormand for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Margot Robbie for I, Tonya and Saoirse Ronan, for Ladybird.
There were a few vets in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role category.
Denzel Washington got a nod for Roman J. Israel, Esq. and Gary Oldman was noticed for his work in Darkest Hour with James Franco being recognized for The Disaster Artist.
Also on the list were Timothée Chalamet for Call Me By Your Name and Daniel Kaluuya for Get Out.

The Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role names included Mary J. Blige for Mudbound, Hong Chau for Downsizing, Holly Hunter for The Big Sick, Allison Janney for I, Tonya, and Laurie Metcalf for Ladybird.
One of the more interesting categories is the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series slot.
Three Big Little Lies stars will compete against each other: Laura Dern, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon.
A fan favorite: This Is Us starring Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia was also nominated
She takes the spotlight: Kevin Spacey, who has been accused of sexual harassment, was not nominated for his work on House of Cards, but his co-star Robin Wright was

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series included Millie Bobby Brown for Stranger Things, Claire Foy for The Crown, Laure Linney for Ozark, Elisabeth Moss for The Handmaid’s Tale and Robin Wright for House of Cards.
She made the grade: Millie Bobby Brown was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her work on Stranger Things
Kevin Spacey, who has been accused of sexual harassment, was not nominated for his work on House of Cards.
Instead, the nominees in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series are Jason Bateman for Ozark, Sterling K. Brown for This Is Us, Peter Dinklage for Game of Thrones, David Harbour for Stranger Things and Bob Odenkirk for Better Call Saul.
Two films that were released somewhat late in the year — Steven Spielberg’s The Post and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread — were snubbed, as stars Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep and Daniel Day-Lewis were all left out.
