Bon Jovi and Nina Simone lead inductees for Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2018... but Radiohead doesn't make the cut

Bon Jovi are among the top acts who comprise the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2018 class which was announced on Thursday morning.
The rock band from Sayreville, New Jersey were not the only big names who will be honored at the ceremony which will take place at Cleveland's Public Hall on April 14, 2018 as legendary singer Nina Simone will also be inducted.

In addition Dire Straits, The Cars, and The Moody Blues will also be recognized.
Singer and pioneer of mid-20th-century music Sister Rosetta Tharpe will also be given the Early Influence Award.
Radiohead were the only act eligible for the first time on this year's ballot but unfortunately did not make it in.

Artists are able to be considered for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album or single.
Bon Jovi first formed when frontman Jon Bon Jovi linked up with David Bryan to form the Atlantic City Expressway in their teenage years.
They eventually recorded their debut album titled Bon Jovi which was released in January 1984 which included their first hit single Runaway which happened to reach the top forty on the Billboard Hot 100.

In their impressive career the band has released 13 studio albums in addition to six compilations and three live albums and has sold more than 130 million records worldwide.
Throughout their storied career they have released rock anthems including It's My Life, Livin' On A Prayer, Always, Bed Of Roses, Wanted Dead Or Alive, and You Give Love A Bad Name.
Nina Simone, 70, began her career in the early Fifties and has since recorded more than 40 albums, many of which were released in 1958 and 1974.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe - who died at the age of 58 in October 1973 - rose to fame in the 1930s and 40s with her gospel recordings.
She was one of the first rhythm-and-blues acts to appeal to the rock-and-roll audience as she was later referred to as both 'the original soul sister' and 'Godmother of rock-and-roll.'

Tharpe's influence can still be felt today as she inspired legendary acts including Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins.
The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2018 ceremony will take place in Cleveland on April 14 with an edited televised version set to air on HBO and a radio broadcast on SiriusXM.
