Richard Gere's girlfriend Alejandra Silva continued to wear what looked to be an engagement ring on her wedding finger on Wednesday evening.

The 34-year-old activist made no effort to hide the rock as she talked to the Spanish senate in Madrid about aiding the homeless.

The Hollywood icon, 68, looked to be in great spirits as he accompanied the former pr guru.

Though Richard's representatives have in the past denied he is engaged, no explanation was offered for why the beauty continues to wear a diamond ring on her wedding finger when that is an international sign one is ready for marriage.

Richard has been married twice before: to Cindy Crawford from 1991 until 1995 and to Carey Lowell from 2002 until 2016.

Silva recently dubbed him an 'extraordinary and special' man who had 'shaken up' her life since they began dating in 2015.

The actor confirmed his relationship with Alejandra at the Taormina Film Festival in June 2015.

It's believed the duo were seeing one another for at least a year before going public with their romance at the film festival last year.

Alejandra is the daughter of the former Vice president of Real Madrid.

Having attended Leweston School in Dorset, Kent, Alejandra is described in local press as a regular among Madrid's glitterati.

She is reported as being the estranged wife of Govind Friedland, the son of American mining magnate Robert Friedland. Together the pair have a young son, Albert.
