The women were given an exemption on the usual waiting period because they had already planned a civil union for the day – then when same-sex marriage was legalised they wanted to make their own day official – Lauren’s family flew from the UK for the day – so they were able to apply for the extension on financial grounds. There were 65 guests at the wedding, pictured bottom right, they used white umbrellas for shade during the beautiful summer ceremony. 

Seven people in hospital after ferry collides with yacht

A funny video has emerged from Sydney of a girl passing out mid-air while on a thrill ride. The footage shows Bronwyn Kettle passing out while hundreds of metres above the ground.
