But for one night only, Jerry Maguire star Cuba Gooding Jr played Santa, reportedly spotted 'crashing multiple Christmas parties' across Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Sydney's Kings Cross Hotel was paid a visit by Santa Gooding Jr.

And it turns out an image shared on one of the bar staff's Instagram accounts corroborates those claims.

Captioned, 'Special visitor at work tonight! #sayitjerry #showmethemoney @kxhotel,' Cuba was seen posing alongside four very happy workers.

Throughout the afternoon and into the night, several more pleasantly surprised locals took to Instagram to share evidence of the time a film icon crashed their party.

One particularly happy snap from a Bondi bar showed Cuba and his total stranger-turned-best-mate smiling like they'd known each other for years.

'Show me the money!!! All the times you made me laugh it's only right I returned the favor @cubagoodingjr.' the punter wrote in the caption.

As if the picture didn't say enough, someone wrote in the comments: 'NO F**KING WAY LOOK HOW HAPPY HE LOOKS TO SEE YOU !!!'

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Cuba explained: '[I'm] walking all around the city going into different places and taking pictures with people on the beach.'

Cuba was flown to Sydney by Optus, who nabbed a rare promotional deal with the elusive talent.

Money isn't a factor object when it comes down to which of the infinite offers he agrees to he told the publication, it's all about what feels right. 

 'So when Optus came to me and said "we’re excited about it and your excitement is what we want," that was different,' he explained.
