'We're going to call her Beyonce!' James Corden reveals newborn daughter almost shared star's name

James Corden and his wife Julia Carey welcomed their third child into the world on Tuesday.

But on Thursday's edition of The Late Late Show, the 39-year-old host admitted the he and Julia, 38, still hadn't chosen a name for their little one.

Although, James revealed he did make one suggestion at the hospital - Beyonce.

The Gavin & Stacey actor revealed: 'After the baby was born, anyone who's been in this situation will know, we were both crying, I was crying my eyes out, my wife's crying her eyes out, the baby's crying.

'The doctor asked about her name and I don't know why I said it and I looked at the doctor and said, "We're going to call her Beyonce." My wife did not think that was funny.

A nurse actually thought he meant it and started filling out the necessary paperwork, according to James.

'I had to go over to her and go, "Excuse me, there's only one Beyonce," ' he said.

The baby's arrival was 'a complete shock' because her due date was still two weeks away.

James dished: 'We went to a routine check-up on Tuesday and suddenly the doctors turn to us and say, "Oh no this is probably happening today and this baby could arrive in the next few hours."

'A complete shock, we were unprepared.

'Seriously we were not expecting this baby to arrive for another couple of weeks. We didn't think this would happen and so this is absolutely true, we still haven't chosen a name for her yet. We don't know what we're going to call her.'

James and Julia already share son Max, five, and daughter Carey, two.

The couple tied the knot in a £250,000 ceremony at Babington House in Frome, Somerset, 111 miles West of London, in 2012.

Meanwhile, James' friend Harry Styles stood in for him, literally at the last moment, on the show on Tuesday and Bryan Cranston hosted on Wednesday.

The comedian took to twitter to praise his One Direction pal, and his lovely wife tweeting: 'Today we welcomed a beautiful baby daughter into the world. Both she and her mother are doing great. Thank you Harry for stepping in to host the show at 2 and a half hours notice! x x x.'
