Time to face the music! Mollie King, Debbie McGee and Ruth Langsford dazzle in glittering fringed frocks beside their hunky professional partners... as the first couple shots of this year's Strictly Come Dancing are unveiled

The hotly-anticipated 2017 series is a matter of days away - and fans have been treated to a sneak peek of what's to come on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The first shots of the show's official couples were unveiled on Tuesday, with Mollie King, Debbie McGee and Ruth Langsford dazzling with their glittering frocks, and the first glimpses of their moves.

Girl band star Mollie, 30, put on a very leggy display in a thigh-skimming yellow frock as she posed with her baby-faced partner AJ Pritchard, 22 - while Debbie McGee, 58, and Ruth Langsford, 57, proved they could give the younger contestants a run for their money as they confidently worked the camera with their respective pros, Giovanni Pernice and Anton du Beke.

Mollie, who rose to fame in The Saturdays, led the glamour in a fringed yellow frock complete with a saucy cut-out at her bust as she posed confidently with her legs gracefully extended, and hands tightly clasped in partner AJ's.

While she exuded confidence and poise in the snap, the stunning blonde recently admitted she was still 'terrified' of taking part in the beloved BBC show, and that she did not feel her girl band background was much of an advantage.

Yet, despite finding comfort on the dance floor in the arms of her partner AJ, the blonde went on to blast recent rumours of a romance between the pair.

Speaking at the Diversity in Media Awards last week, she laughed: 'I think there’s always some kind of romance rumour so it didn’t surprise me but I hardly even know him well so far, so there’s no truth in that.'

Leading ladies: Adding to the glamorous shoot was This Morning's Ruth Langsford, who was worlds away from her morning show host self in a dazzling blue dress, while Debbie McGee (R) stood out from the crowd in pink

Before adding in admiration of her pro partner: 'But he’s such a sweet heart and obviously he is a beautiful boy so I’m very lucky.'

Adding to the glamorous shoot was This Morning's Ruth Langsford, who was worlds away from her morning show host self in a dazzling blue dress complete with a raunchy mesh bodice, giving the illusion of bare skin underneath.

Posing for the camera with her leg poised in the air, the ITV star could not contain her beaming smile as she leaned on the support of her partner Anton - having joked at the launch show that she intended to 'rub up against any man she can', in order to make her husband Eamonn Holmes jealous.

Also representing the older contestants on the show was Debbie McGee, who flaunted her impressively slender frame in a hot pink number as she embarked on her first spot of partner work with Giovanni Pernice.

Cool kid: Boyband star Aston Merrygold added a trendy touch to the shoot in a striking metallic blazer, as he cut a cool figure clicking for the camera beside his leggy gown-clad partner Janette Manrara

The blonde has already expressed her excitement at the series, after revealing her late husband Paul Daniels had always wanted her to do the show - meaning her participation was in sweet tribute to him.

Meanwhile Chizzy Akudolu and Joe McFadden both displayed the bubbly personalities they may bring to the dancefloor in their shots - with a glamorous Chizzy jokingly pulling her partner Pasha Kovalev by the tie, while Scottish hunk Joe simply looked on and laughed as his partner Katya Jones jumped high into the air.

The acting duo may embark on a playful rivalry on this year's series as they both hail from Holby City - the popular hospital drama that also starred former Strictly winner Tom Chambers, putting the pair in good stead.

Showing off her envy-inducing figure in the frock as a fitness fanatic, it is no wonder the Emmerdale star has already captured attention on the show - amid swirling rumours she has embarked on romance with Gorka Marquez.

A source told The Sun of the pair: 'They couldn't keep away from each other at group rehearsals. Gorka even invited Gemma to his birthday meal and they sat together the whole night.'

However, the Spanish dancer had his eyes firmly on his own partner Alexandra Burke during the shoot, who draped herself across him in a flirty orange frock - proving her grace and flexibility from the offset.

Here come the boys: Fulfilling the role of this year's hunks on the show were Davood Ghadami and Jonnie Peacock (L-R), who set pulses racing with their muscular frames in embellished shirts
Let's do this: Oti Mabuse, who reached the final with Danny Mac last year, looked more than happy to be in the arms of the show's first Paralympian, who perhaps proved he was already a natural by drawing the Brazilian into hold in the snap

The experience is undoubtedly going to be an emotional one for the X Factor star, who tragically lost her mother Melissa Bell to kidney failure last month, aged just 53.

Speaking to the Radio Times ahead of her appearance, the Broken Heels hitmaker admitted Strictly had been the Soul II Soul singer's dream as much as hers - and she hoped to make her proud as he learned the art of ballroom and Latin.

She said: 'My being on the show was a dream of hers, as well as mine, so doing the best I can on Strictly means a lot to me. So when I step on to that dance floor on Saturday night I want to do the best I can and make her proud.'

Fulfilling the role of this year's hunks on the show were Davood Ghadami and Jonnie Peacock, who set pulses racing with their muscular frames in embellished shirts, after admitting they were keen to embrace the glitz and glamour of the series at the press launch.

EastEnders star Davood, 35, posed fiercely with a hand on his hip as his partner Nadiya Bychkova, took control in the shot - after the new dancer promised to work him hard in the rehearsal room.

Not only open with her desire to learn to dance, the Radio 4 presenter had also burst into happy tears when she was paired with fan favourite Kevin, gushing to Tess: 'I’ve dreamt about being on the show for years, and I’ve always dreamt about dancing with Kevin. I’m so sorry but I feel like I’ve won the Lottery!' before adding that she also has a poster of him on her fridge door.

However, the mother-of-one was the picture of confidence in the arms of her partner Brendan Cole, who has appeared on the show since its very first season.

The 2017 installment will no doubt be more a special - although hectic - experience for the Kiwi dancer however, as he recently announced he is expecting his second child with his wife Zoe.

The pair have proved their chemistry already in recent weeks, having been spotted rehearsing in front of the congregation at the 55-year-old's usual weekly service at St Marys Church in Finedon.
