Oscar snubs Angelina! Jolie's Cambodian biopic fails to make cut for Best Foreign Language Film nominees
Angelina Jolie won't be in the running for an Oscar at the next Academy Awards for her Cambodian biographical thriller.
The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences revealed the nine finalists for nominations on Thursday in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
Jolie's film First They Killed My Father that was submitted as Cambodia's entry did not make the cut.

The film directed by Jolie, 42, and co-written by her and Loung Ung based on Ung's memoir of the same name was considered as a favorite for an Oscar nomination.
First They Killed My Father was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film for the upcoming Golden Globes and also for the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.
Jolie in addition to being a US citizen also has Cambodian citizenship, which helped qualify her film as Cambodia's entry.
The French entry BPM about the AIDS epidemic in France in the 1990s also was overlooked by the Oscars.

Nine films remained in contention for the five nominations.
The included the Chile entry A Fantastic Woman; Germany's In The Fade starring Diane Kruger; Hungary's On Body And Soul; Israel's Foxtrot; Lebanon's The Insult, Russia's Loveless; Senegal's Félicité; South Africa's The Wound and Sweden's The Square starring Elisabeth Moss.
Jolie previously won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 1999 drama Girl, Interrupted.

She also recently received a nomination from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for The Breadwinner in the Best Motion Picture – Animated category.
The Golden Globes will be held January 17.
The Oscars hosted by Jimmy Kimmel will take place on March 4 in Hollywood.
