The premiere comes just days after the film took six nominations at the Golden Globes - including Best Actor/Actress nods for Hanks and Streep - leaving it tied for top nods alongside Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

But two days later the Steven Spielberg directed flick was completely shut out at another important ceremony.

The Post, which follows Kay Graham (played by Streep) who becomes the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, noticeably earned zero nominations when the contenders for the Screen Actor Guild Awards were announced on Wednesday.

The Post opens in select theaters December 22.
