O.J. Simpson's former lawyer and an investigator who worked on his case have revealed plans for a book they say will finally put to rest the public's disbelief that he was acquitted of murder.
F.Lee Bailey was one of several lawyers who worked on Simpson's case in the 1990s.
He was brought on by the lead counsel Robert Shapiro after Simpson was charged with murdering his estranged wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman.
Simpson was acquitted in 1995 but, since he was released from prison in Nevada earlier this year on separate charges, his old defense team say the public interest and scrutiny which they experienced during 'the trial of the century', has been revived.
Now 84, Bailey and Pat McKenna, the investigator who the defense hired, are shopping a book to publishers which they say will finally address what millions have been incredulous over for decades - how did OJ get off?

F. Lee Bailey was part of OJ Simpson's 'Dream Team of lawyers' during his 1995 trial. He now says he plans to release a book that will explain why he was acquitted and will change public perception of the former footballer
Simpson, now 70, was released from Lovelock prison in Nevada in October after spending nine years behind bars for armed robbery. He is pictured at his July parole hearing
'We’re not writing this to make a fortune.
'We’re writing this to ram it down the public’s throat until they understand what happened,' Bailey, who was disbarred in 2001 over his work on another case, told The Palm Beach Post this week.
Lee met with Simpson for dinner in Las Vegas not long after his release in October. They ate at The Palms hotel with another man.
In a recent interview with the podcast Porkins Policy Review, Bailey complained that his representation of Simpson and their victory cost him the respect of industry peers.
Simpson has been making the most of his freedom. He has been spotted frequenting bars in Las Vegas and has stopped to pose with fans
'Never in my life have I been punished more for getting an acquittal.
'Lawyers and judges have remonstrated with me for prostituting my talents because, they say, I was the reason O.J. got acquitted,' he complained.
He said prosecutor Marcia Clarke was 'not the brightest lawyer I ever met' and that she and the LAPD put forward a 'BS' case.
Simpson was released from Lovelock on October 2 after spending nine years behind bars for armed robbery.
He has since returned to Florida where he plans to live quietly and reconnect with his two adult children, both of whom were asleep in their Brentwood, California, home as their mother was murdered outside.
Bailey, now 84, is working with Pat McKenna, the criminal investigator who helped their case, on the book
Simpson was acquitted of murdering his estranged wife Nicole Brown in 1995 in what was called the trial of the century. He still owes her family - and the family of her friend Ron Goldman who she was murdered with - millions in wrongful death lawsuit payouts

His close friend, Tom Scotto, said: 'He's going to focus on kids, friends, his family and golf. Maybe not the first day or second, but he is going to go out.'
Now 70, OJ has given no indication that he plans on making a return to public life.
He has still not repaid the $70million he owes Goldman's family in a wrongful death lawsuit settlement.
Before he was jailed for armed robbery, he was found civilly liable for both Brown and Goldman's deaths and was ordered to pay tens of millions of dollars.
He reneged by claiming he had no money.
In 2001, Bailey was disbarred over his earlier contempt of court conviction.
He was jailed for not returning $6million of a client's money which he claimed prosecutors had promised him when he had the client - a drug dealer - agree to their terms.
Shapiro, who hired him to work on OJ with him, testified against him in that case.
Bailey ater passed the bar again in Maine but has been accused of skimping out on a $2million IRS tax bill.
McKenna has been working recently with Casey Anthony who was acquitted of killing her daughter Caylee in 2011. The pair are pictured recently in Boynton Beach, Florida
