They have been happily dating for over a year.

And despite her recent busy schedule, Dakota Fanning was spotted enjoying a romantic meal with her boyfriend, Jamie Strachan, on Wednesday evening.

The low-key couple were seen making their way into a New York restaurant as they walked hand-in-hand.

The 20-year-old actress opted for an casual ensemble for the date night as she wore a baggy sleeveless over a black leather dress with double thigh splits.

She highlighted her features with a blood red lipstick and a dusting of bronzer while her blonde locks were left naturally straight.

Dakota completed the look with black ankle boots and added a pop of colour with a small ice blue bag.

Her 32-year-old British model boyfriend also went for a laid-back look as he teamed a checked shirt, jeans and black trainers.

Dakota will next be seen on the big screen in Very Good Girls, which hits US theatres on June 24.

In the film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last January, Dakota and Elizabeth Olsen play two friends who pledge to lose their virginity the first summer after high school graduation.

The coming-of-age drama sees Dakota and Elizabeth, 25, peeling off their clothes to go skinny dipping in the ocean to broaden their horizons.

 

Dakota plays Lily who is determined to experience as much of life as she can during the first summer after high school graduation.

But her close friendship with Gerry, played by Elizabeth, is tested when they fall for the same guy.

She can also be seen in the drama Effie Gray – out in September – about the mysterious relationship between Victorian art critic John Ruskin and his teenage bride, Effie.
