Zack Ward, now 47, who played iconic bully Scut Farkus, told Page Six he gets something, but it's not make-me-rich money.
'You're going to be so disappointed,' Ward said. 'It's basically about $1,800 every two years … and it comes in in Canadian money because we shot in Canada.'
Then and now: Zack Ward played iconic bully Scut Farkus in the 1983 classic 'A Christmas Story' and still receives royalties
Ward says people often reference that he got beat up by 'Ralphie' played by Peter Billingsley
Ward was 13 when he scored the role. He says he puts the extra money aside in a special account for his mother, should she ever need it.
He is eve still recognized on the street.
'So many people come up to me and are like, 'You got your ass kicked by Ralphie,' and it makes them so happy,' he said.
'I think they're connecting to themselves as that little kid who had a bully and when they saw Scut Farkus get beaten up, they were just like, 'Yeah!' They greet me with a lot of love. It's usually very kind.'
'It's incredible to be a part of something that is lightning in a bottle like that,' he told us.
While he is still acting and living in Los Angeles he is also working with All Sports Market and Global Sports Financial Exchange, Inc. to develop a sports exchange which would allow fans to buy and trade shares of various sports teams, according to Page Six.
He was most recently guest starred in the newest season of 'American Horror Story' and the Keanu Reeves show 'Swedish Dicks.'
