And Alex Gerrard showed motherhood suited her down to the ground when she proved to be a hands-on mum as she shopped up a storm in Liverpool on Thursday.

The WAG, 35, flaunted her slender figure in slim-fit sports gear, just eight months after giving birth to her son Lio in April.

Proving to be a successful shopping trip, the footballer's wife toted a gift bag no doubt brimming with festive purchases ahead of Christmas.

The golden-haired beauty kept her look casual as she wrapped up in a hoodie and stepped out in a pair of trainers.

Alex and Steven were married in a romantic ceremony back in June 2007 at Cliveden House, Buckinghamshire and they have gone from strength to strength ever since.

The lovebirds raise a happy little family together including their three other children: Lilly-Ella, 13, Lexie, 10, and Lourdes, aged five.

With three daughters already, Steven was keen for a son when stunning wife Alex announced the couple were expecting a fourth child in November last year.

And when the little cherub finally arrived in May, Steven could not contain his excitement as he shared via social media: 'It's a boy!'
