And Anna Friel and Adwoa Aboah oozed glamour as they stepped out at the Evening Standard Christmas party, hosted by owner Evgeny Lebedev in London on Friday.

Anna, 41, showed off her lithe physique in a festive golden satin floor-length gown which cinched in at her slender waist and flowed to the ground in an elegant skirt.

Christmas party season is well underway and last night saw Adwoa Aboah step out for the Evening Standard's party in London.

Decking herself out in all manner of animal print, Adwoa teamed a silky leopard print maxi with Saint Laurent's covetable 'Candy' heels and a black longline coat (complete with leopard print lining, of course!). Adding a extra touch of sparkle, the neckline and hem featured glittering metallic sequins. The Girlfriend Experience actress added height to her look with vertiginous sandals.

Her brunette locks were swept back from her pretty face in an elegant chignon, with her radiant complexion enhanced with fluttery lashes and a slick of pink lipstick. She accessorised with a black leather studded clutch.

Anna is currently wowing viewers in The Girlfriend Experience which has set jaws dropping with its racy lesbian sex scenes. In the critically acclaimed series Anna plays a high-powered political executive who has a relationship with a female escort.

Discussing the scenes with Metro.us, Friel urged audiences to look beyond the sexual scenes at the drama taking place away from the sheets.

She said: 'We’ve got to concentrate on it as a piece of work. I've never really had an issue with nudity as long as I didn't ever feel like I was made to do it or thought that it was salacious.

'But if you're dealing with something where you know that sex is going to be involved, it's something that we really shouldn't shy away from.'

She bundled up against the winter temperatures with a chic black coat that came complete with leopard print lining and sleeves.

The star finished her look with a matching hat and added further height with silk strappy sandals.

Mascara and a light coating of gloss accentuated her striking features.
