Funeral procession for firefighter Cory Iverson held in CA

A funeral procession from Ventura to San Diego County was held on Sunday for a heroic firefighter who lost his life in the Thomas fire currently raging in southern California. The somber ceremony began at 10am Sunday morning in honor of Cal Fire engineer Cory Iverson, who was killed while battling the blaze on Thursday. The Ventura County Coroner's office said that Iverson died of burns and smoke inhalation in Fillmore, located about 30 miles north of Los Angeles county.

Sarah Palin's son Track arrested in Alaska

Track Palin, 28, the oldest son of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, was arrested in Alaska on assault and burglary charges involving domestic violence. He is facing charges of on felony burglary, misdemeanor reckless assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief for causing up to $500 in property damage, according to court records. In 2016, Track faced several charges related to domestic violence, including using a weapon while intoxicated. He was suspected of punching and kneeing his girlfriend, who then became concerned that he was going to shoot himself with a rifle.

Power outage reported at Atlanta's international airport

Power has been restored at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after an outage caused more than 1,200 flights to be cancelled. Passengers were left stranded on planes on the tarmac and in darkened terminals at the world's busiest airport following the blackout on Sunday. Even though power was finally restored at close to midnight Sunday, the incident continued to wreak havoc on holiday travel plans for thousands of people hit by airline cancellations extending into Monday.

The blackout halted all outgoing flights Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Sunday, with many passengers stuck on the tarmac for hours as over 1,000 were flights cancelled.

Hovering about 50 feet above the churn was an aircraft of some sort that was whitish, 40 feet long and oval in shape, Fravor recounted. He described to the Times that it was jumping erratically but not moving in any specific direction.

The odd-looking dog was brought into an animal shelter in Chelyabinsk in south-central Russia's Cheliabinsk Oblast region and has baffled locals who say they have 'never seen anything like it before'. The stray dog, nicknamed Medvebaka from the Russian words for bear and dog, appears to have the body of a canine with a bear-like snout and ears. Nash Dom animal shelter released Images to the public in hopes that the animal's owner comes forward.
