Earlier this week, she displayed her athletic prowess as she showed off her boxing moves for her instalment of the popular LOVE advent calendar.

And Gigi Hadid kept the sporting theme going on Thursday, when she hosted an holiday celebration in New York City as part of her duties as a Reebok ambassador.

The Victoria's Secret model, 22, displayed her enviably lean physique in a red sports bra under a sheer white cropped blouse, which she teamed with red leggings, grey running shoes and - to mark the occasion - a personalised Santa hat.

Gigi Hadid stepped out in New York City this week flaunting her abs in a crop top and leggings.

The model showed that she doesn't get her figure without working out, dressed ready to hit the gym.

Her leggings with their mesh side panels are a Reebok creation. We love the chafe-free waistband design and that the mesh inserts will have a cooling effect while hitting the treadmill too.

Part of the aim of the intimate gathering - which included her closest brand collaborators - was to inspire women to be better together in the coming year.

With large decorated Christmas trees illuminating the background, the girlfriend of former One Direction star Zayn Malik was photographed with gingerbread men and other sweet treats as she posed in the venue's spacious kitchen.

Gigi got her guests involved in some classic Christmas traditions, including decorating gingerbread men, as she talked about some of her favourite things to do over the festive season.

She said: 'I handwrite cards to everyone at Christmas. I always remember cards. I keep every card everyone sends me, they mean a lot to me.'

As Gigi hosted the bash, she reflected on the past year, and how the experiences in her life have led her to be in a better place.

She said: 'I've been a lot more in touch with what makes me happy and at peace. I've been honest with the people I work with about what makes me best mentally so I can be my best physically and at work.

'I've stood up for myself. I've also learned to not put your gold in the shadow; celebrate yourself. You can still be kind and humble, but celebrate yourself.'

On Monday, Gigi caused quite a stir when her LOVE advent calendar clip was released showing her in a skimpy Lycra two-piece as she showed off her boxing moves - and armpit hair.

As she proudly showed off her biceps in the clip - she also showed that she had perhaps eased up on her grooming routine.

Rather than mentioning the powerful imagery, fans flocked to Instagram to discuss her body hair - and it certainly divided opinion.

One wrote: 'Does she have hair in her armpits???', while another fans defended her, writing: 'YES GIGI YES!'

Another viewer insisted they had been 'distracted' by the look, commenting: 'Her armpit hair was too distracting for me to watch the video. That should of been shaved. This magazine should of known this before shooting and releasing this video. Just not a clean look!'

They wrote: 'For all of you women commenting rude words and hating on this: You are missing the main point of this campaign.

'While you're thinking 'shame on Gigi for not shaving her armpits and letting me see them on Instagram (omg I won't sleep tonite)' you should really feel ashamed of yourself for showing us yet again that unity and unconditional love and support between each other is far from happening until there are these social boundaries that really exist nowhere but in your minds.'

She said: 'I didn't get a Brazilian. I know that the girls who get the body paint do, but I didn't do body paint, so it wasn't too hard.'
