The Apprentice EXCLUSIVE: 'I was scared of everything!' Fiery semi-finalist Michaela Wain says the show helped her battle anxiety... admitting she 'couldn't even get on a train'

She's been the outspoken northerner on the current season of The Apprentice, storming her way to the final five.

So it may come as a shock to many that Michaela Wain - who was fired from the show in Wednesday evening's semi-final - had suffered from anxiety and panic attacks up until she appeared on the series.

'Being on this show has 100 per cent not been a waste of time - it's helped me to overcome my anxiety,' she told MailOnline. 'My life’s changed completely.'

'Before the show I used to be really scared of everything - even getting on a train.

'I used to have panic attacks. And people wouldn't know that I wasn't confident because, when it comes to business, I have always been super confident.

'But I have always been extremely lacking in self-confidence.'

Michaela credits the show for throwing her into stressful situations and making her overcome her issues.

'Being in such extreme environments is what does it. And then there was the time Claude [Littner] tore me a new one when I had the interview with him.

'I figured that nothing could be worse than that.'

Ambition: Michaela, who is a mother-of-one, hasn't given up on her business aspirations

'I definitely feel I should have been in the final. And I would have won it,' she declared. 'I still don’t understand [Lord Sugar's] reasoning. He's got lots of business ventures, and so have I. So I'd be the perfect business partner.'

Michaela, who is a mother-of-one, certainly hasn't given up on her business aspirations.

'I am going to crack on with my construction business with Harrison [Jones, former co-star]. He's in property development and construction. Sajan [Shah] is going to do recruitment for us.'

The Apprentice final airs on BBCOne on Sunday evening at 9PM.
