Bernie Ecclestone has joined the hordes of shoppers snapping up last minute bargains ahead of Christmas.

The Formula One supremo was seen at the upmarket Chelsea furniture store Oka with his Brazilian wife Fabiana Flosi on Sunday afternoon.

The store, which was founded by Samantha Cameron’s mother Lady Astor, held a sale in the last weekend before Christmas - and the 87-year-old billionaire appeared to make the most of it as he left laden with three shopping bags.

Bernie's bodyguard and a member of shop staff helped carry his three large bags to the car, before he got in beside the driver and drove off.

The shopping trip comes just days after Bernie's daughter Tamara was reportedly been grilled by taxmen investigating her father's £2.5billion empire.

Tamara Ecclestone, 33, was quizzed under caution by people looking into her father's fortune at the London HQ of Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.

It comes after the socialite decorated her £70million home with huge Christmas trees and a life-sized sleigh in Kensington.

Her 87-year-old father, described as the 'F1 Supremo', has been involved in a long dispute with HMRC over his huge tax bill.

In 2008, the row was first settled with HMRC after he reportedly paid £10million of his £1billion tax bill in a 'secret deal'.

But Mr Ecclestone was later pursued for more money in 2015 in what was one of the biggest tax disputes in British history.

His daughter, who stars in ITV reality TV show Tamara's World, was the first of his children to be questioned.

There is no suggestion she has broken any tax laws and her spokesman said she helped HMRC with their enquiries.

A representative for Ms Ecclestone said: 'Tamara Ecclestone attended an interview with HMRC by appointment and was happy to assist them with their enquiries.'
