'Who dis': Chandler Riggs chops off long hair after his character suffers fatal walker bite on The Walking Dead

Chandler Riggs tried out a new look after his character Carl Grimes suffered a fatal walker bite on The Walking Dead.

The 18-year-old actor had been sporting shoulder-length hair much like his character in the comic books that inspire the hit AMC show.

Chandler took to social media on Saturday and shared his fresh short haircut.

He also wrote for his 1.6 million followers on Twitter: 'new hair who dis'.

Chandler later tweeted: 'i feel so exposed like a naked mole rat or something'.

It was revealed during the mid-season finale earlier this month that Carl had been bitten by a walker.

Chandler has been playing the son of former sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes since The Walking Dead premiered on AMC on October 31, 2010.

Carl's pending demise was unexpected as the character remains alive in the ongoing comic books that inspire the show.

While the plot twist was a shock to many long time fans, it also got under the skin of other Walking die-hards, who saw Carl's bite as the de facto firing of young Riggs.

A Facebook post from Chandler's father offered a more detailed account, alleging showrunner Scott Gimple of 'firing' his son '2 weeks before his 18th birthday.'

'I never trusted Gimple or AMC but Chandler did. I know how much it hurt him. But we do absolutely know how lucky we have been to be a part of it all and appreciate all the love from fans all these years!' the tour guide/entrepreneur shared.

At the time of publication the Change.org petition has gotten 65k of its desired 75k signatures.

Carl will still be part of The Walking Dead when it returns from its mid-season hiatus on February 25, 2018.
