She is an Oscar winning actress of 30 years.

And it looked like Julia Roberts brought her A-game on her latest day of filming.

The 50-year-old star was seen filming an emotional scene at a cemetery on the New York set of Ben Is Back on Tuesday morning.

It seemed to hit a dramatic climax as Lucas Hedges - who plays her son in the film - was seen on his knees while clinging onto the A-lister.

The scene appeared to be emotionally charged as Julia could be seen yelling as she gets on the passenger side of her character's Subaru Outback and opens the door.

She then seemingly forces her 21-year-old co-star out of the vehicle and begins pushing him onto the lawn with the gravestones.

After the emotional embrace, things seemed to have simmered down a bit as they walked back to the car side-by-side after the grave visit.

No doubt it was a chilly day on set as there was visible snow on the ground.

Julia bundled up in a plenty of layers including a long green coat with a fur-lining on the hood, skinny blue jeans, and black leather boots.

She accessorized with a grey beanie and tartan scarf.

Her signature brunette tresses were tucked into her warm headwear as she let her evergreen looks show with minimal make-up on her face.

Lucas was dressed down in a fleece jacket with baggy jeans, and brown leather workboots.

The film is written and directed by Peter Hedges, who is the real life father to Lucas.

The story revolves around Lucas's Ben who is described as 'a charming yet troubled man who returns home to his unsuspecting family on Christmas Eve,' according to Variety.

The trade publication adds that Julia welcomes her beloved son back to the family 'but soon learns that he is still very much in harm’s way'.

Variety reported recently that Courtney B. Vance has been cast to play Julia's husband and Lucas's step-father in the film.

Meanwhile Julia recently turned 50 and was delighted to celebrate the milestone with husband Daniel Moder and her children, Hazel and Phinnaeus, 12, and 10-year-old son Henry. The family is pictured with surfer Kelly Slater in 2015
