She broke into the world of acting more than one decade ago.

And Madison De La Garza rocked a white ensemble as she celebrated her 16th birthday in style alongside sister Demi Lovato, 25, on Monday night.

The former Desperate Housewives starlet was all smiles on her big day as Demi dressed in a pinstripe blazer and shared a series of Instagram stories from the over-the-top extravaganza.

Demi showed off peeks of her toned tummy in a lacy black bralette worn underneath a navy blue-and-white pinstriped blazer.

Her long chocolate brown hair was worn in loose waves which cascaded down past her shoulders for her sister's big event.

Madison looked darling in a sweeping sleeveless white gown with a diamond encrusted belt wrapped around her waist.

Demi Lovato got suited and booted to help her sister Madison De La Garza to celebrate her sweet 16th.

The birthday girl wore a pretty white playsuit with a detachable sheer skirt, but we're loving this striped ensemble on Demi. Her trouser suit is by Giada Forte and features a gold stripe print and a single breasted lapels. The relaxed fit is super flattering, and when teamed with a black lace bralet underneath, it's a very chic look.

The young actress has also used her voice to battle mental health stigmas as a writer on the 2017 short film The Imbalancing Act.

Madison de la Garza played Juanita Solis from the ages of 7 to 11, daughter to Gabrielle (Eva Longoria), who later discovered she was not her biological child following a mix-up at the hospital.

Half sister to pop star Demi Lovato, Madison also played a younger version of her half-sister Lovato's character Sonny Munroe in a 2009 episode of Sonny With A Chance.

She went on to star in Demi's documentary, and a series including Good Luck Charlie and Bad Teacher. Now 16, her most recent role was in series American Koko.

Teri Hatcher played single mother Susan Mayer in the series, amid continuous rumours of a rift with the rest of the cast. She won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of the character in 2005. In 2010 Teri returned to the Superman franchise for a one-off appearance. She was notably absent for many of the DH closing press appearances in 2012. Teri went on to star in series The Odd Couple and Supergirl. Now 53, Teri is mother to Emerson Rose from a previous marriage.
