Manchester United's preparations for tonight's Carabao Cup quarter-final against Bristol City have been disrupted after their plane had to be diverted to Cardiff this morning due to fog. United (whose players are pictured boarding the plane in Manchester this morning, right) made the unusual decision to travel to the game on the morning of the match rather than make the 140-mile trip to the south west the night before. The Leicester Royal Infirmary was full of festive cheer as Claude Puel's side brought gifts for the patients. Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Co suffered Carabao Cup elimination on penalties against Manchester City on Tuesday night but were in high spirits as they spent time with a number of young fans. The Foxes stars posed for photos and delivered presents such as new footballs and goalkeeping gloves. Clearly some patients were already huge Leicester fans, with one supporter wearing a club shirt with a branded blanket on his bed.
