'Questionable cursive!' Man is left shocked by a VERY rude Christmas card from his aunt and uncle telling him not to 'w**k too hard' (but all is not what it seems)

  • Producer Rob Cook, from London received a rather rude looking Christmas card
  • Aunt and uncle said 'don't work too hard' but handwriting looked very different
  • The tweet has since gone viral, but thankfully his relatives found it funny
  • Other people have shared their own examples of similar mishaps

Christmas cards are soon forgotten once they go in the recycling bin, but this year one man received a missive from his family that he'll certainly remember.

Producer Rob Cook, from London, was shocked to receive a card from his aunt Lesley and uncle Roy, seemingly telling him not to 'w***k too hard' over the festive season.

But on closer inspection of his aunt's cursive writing, he realised she'd written the much more appropriate message of: 'don't work too hard'.

Rob shared an image of the hilarious misunderstanding on Twitter, which has promptly gone viral, receiving almost 4,000 likes, and other people have since shared their own pictures of similar mishaps with him.

Instead of telling him not to 'work too hard', the joined up letters made it seem that his relatives had an X-rated message

After the post spread far and wide Rob told his relatives that they'd become Twitter famous.

Luckily, his aunt found it funny and said that the message still stands, texting him to say: 'Don't do either too hard, they're both bad for you.'

One shared a picture of her father's retirement card, in which a colleague told him to get 'plenty of fishing done'.

The handwriting made 'fish' look like 'fist', which made the card seem very rude indeed.

In a similar situation to Rob, PaulAlexBoyd said a thank you card from his employees made it look like they'd also replaced 'work' with a rude word.

After the tweet went viral he let his aunt and uncle know and they joked that their original point still stands
