NeNe Leakes reveals she had a 'breakdown' after controversy in which she told female heckler she 'hopes her Uber driver rapes your a**'
NeNe Leakes revealed that she had a breakdown after her recent controversy in which she told a cruel rape joke aimed at a female heckler.
The 49-year-old star opened up about her feelings in an Instagram video according to E! News on Saturday as she revealed that she had a really rough time after the incident at first but is now feeling much better.
'A lot of people know me as NeNe who's laughing and talking,' she said in the clip. 'A lot of people don't know me as NeNe who, you know, would have a breakdown—a moment.'
She did give her concerned fans some hope as she said she is doing fine now.

'Trust and believe me guys, I'm so OK,' NeNe explained. 'I'm in a great place today. I can't say that I've been in a great place these last few days, but I am so OK. I am so OK with everything.'
She even recalled the ugly incident from her stand-up performance last week.
'I never imagined ever ever ever stepping on stage and somebody screaming out 'Go kill yourself' to me,' she said. 'It literally took me somewhere else. I have apologized. I have let it go.'
She then got a little emotional as she thanked her fans for all their messages of support.

This comes after she was dropped from her hosting gig for Xscape's upcoming US tour due to a cruel rape joke she aimed at a heckler.
The American R&B quartet released a statement on Thursday saying they were 'dismayed' by the 49-year-old reality star's remarks and were no longer proceeding with having her services on the road.
During Leakes' stand up gig in Oakland over the weekend she was seemingly losing the crowd when she went after one specific audience member.
In the midst of her rant, the Real Housewives Of Atlanta star disgustingly said: 'I hope he [Uber driver] rapes your a** tonight b**ch.'
It's unclear what the audience member said that sparked Leakes' reaction but it was caught on video and posted to Facebook.
Xscape - featuring members LaTocha Scott, Tamika Scott, Tameka 'Tiny' Cottle, and Kandi Burruss - took a firm stance against the reality star's statement.
Their statement said: 'Like many, we were dismayed by the recent remarks made by our talented colleague and friend Nene Leakes. As a result, we have decided to no longer proceed with her participation on our tour.

'It was an unfortunate incident for which Nene has since apologized and we wish her the best as she navigates this very difficult period.'
The all-female group also added that they are strong supporters to all women and felt like the decision was necessary despite Leakes' previous apology.
They added: 'Our hearts go out to all female victims and we stand with you! This tour is for and about our fans and we want to provide an entertaining and enjoyable experience for every single person who attends.
'As always, we are grateful for the love and support and we look forward to seeing all of you at The Great Xscape tour.'

Leakes' apologized for her harsh words in Facebook Monday as she said she regretted her comments after footage of the exchange was posted online, causing outrage.
'Sometimes words can cut deep and hurt when you have no intentions of them doing so,' Leakes wrote.
'As a woman and someone who has survived abuse, I regret the words that I used. I made a mistake and I should have known better. I hope people accept my deepest and sincerest apologies. I am sorry.'
Season 10 of RHOA will premiere on November 5 on Bravo.
