'I am forever grateful for this miracle': Jamie Lynn Spears thanks doctors who saved daughter Maddie's life... 10 months after horrific ATV accident left her trapped underwater

Her daughter Maddie was hospitalised for five days after she became trapped underwater following a horrific ATV accident.

And 10 months on from the freak accident, Jamie Lynn Spears was eager to continue showing her gratitude to the first responders who had saved her child.

As part of her '#12DaysofJLS' social media campaign, the 26-year-old sister of Britney Spears has been sharing 12 life milestones leading up to Christmas - with Monday's choice being Maddie's shocking incident.

Grateful: 10 months on from Maddie's freak accident, Jamie Lynn Spears was eager to continue showing her gratitude to the first responders who had saved her child in an Instagram post on Monday

Sharing a picture of the first responders alongside her nine-year-old daughter, Jamie Lynn wrote: 'The hardest milestone me and my family have ever faced was almost losing our beautiful Maddie, but thanks to God and the two angels in this picture we were able to celebrate Maddie turning 9 years old all together.

'This milestone became a true miracle, and we are forever grateful for that. #12DaysOfJLS.'

The picture had been taken at Maddie's birthday pool party in June - when paramedics John and Victoria had been invited to help celebrate after saving the youngster's life months prior.

She thanked them at the time in an Instagram post, writing: 'My baby is 9 years old today, and more then ever we realize how precious every day is.

'So, we have to thank these 2 HEROS John and Victoria are the first responders, who literally saved Maddie’s life, and they were able to celebrate her another year of her life with us this past weekend!

'Thank God for these amazing people, and thank you God for your amazing grace. We are so blessed today, and everyday with this little angel! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADDIE.'

Maddie was rushed to the hospital on Super Bowl Sunday in February this year after the ATV she was riding flipped over.

Her head was under water in a pond for several minutes and at first it was thought she might not make it.

But the first responders got her out of the ATV quickly (she seemed to be trapped by the seat belt and the safety netting) and saved her life.

After she was freed, Maddie was airlifted to the hospital where she remained in a critical but stable condition for several days.

Maddie finally regained consciousness and was surrounded by family who stayed by her hospital bed following the accident.

The ATV had been a gift for her 7th birthday, TMZ reported. The website said that Maddie should never have been riding the vehicle as she was under the age of 10.
