AT&T; said Wednesday that it will pay $1,000 bonuses to more than 200,000 employees - and make $1 billion in new investments in the United States next year - once a tax reform bill approved by Congress is signed into law. The Republican-controlled House and Senate have given final approval to the biggest overhaul of the U.S. tax code in 30 years, sending the sweeping bill to President Donald Trump for his signature. As part of that bill, the tax rate on corporations will drop from 35 per cent to 21 per cent. Trump previously called the measure 'rocket fuel' for the economy. He took a victory lap at the White House and boasted more would follow AT&T;'s lead - with Comcast, which owns NBC Universal, Wells Fargo and Boeing quickly proving him right.

Dumpster driver crashed truck into Evan Turner's pool

A dumpster truck driver was rescued after crashing his vehicle into the swimming pool of Portland Trailblazers star Evan Turner (pictured). Authorities say the truck's driver lost control on a hairpin curve (inset right) and wound up careening down a hill and before submerging into the pool on Wednesday morning. NEW A Sydney 'comedian' has swallowed a live fish inside a pet store as part of a grim series of dares with one of his mates - only to vomit it up minutes later.  Trent Hunt selected his victim of choice from a large tank of goldfish at a Petbarn in Penrith, in Sydney's east, before throwing it down his throat the second a staff member turned away. In a theatrical performance for a video, which was later shared to Facebook, the 22-year-old flashed his tongue to prove he had in fact swallowed the small fish.

Abandoned Connecticut hospital 'haunted by girl's ghost' 

Haunting images have emerged from inside an abandoned state hospital where it is said the ghost of a young girl walks the corridors.  Legend states the girl, dressed in a white gown, stares out of the window of the Fairfield Hills State Hospital in Newtown, Connecticut.  The hospital is a derelict psychiatric asylum where tales of cruelty and mistreatment have cast a shadow over the establishment.  The hospital is said to have been the first place to perform a lobotomy on a mentally ill patient in the United States.

Black bear killed after attackingthree people in Minnesota

Deputies in Isabella, Minnesota, shot and killed a female black bear. The animal attacked Bill Vagts, 68 (right), and his dog on Tuesday morning. She then attacked two construction workers nearby, but everyone survived. Two men are in the hospital and expected to fully recover. Lake County deputies tracked the bear and fatally shot it after the attacks.

Father turns his sons' drawings into animated characters

Thomas Romain, a French animation creator living in Tokyo, has collaborated with his sons Ryunosuke, 11, and Itsuki, eight, on a series of 45 drawings. The pictures, which feature a wide range of whimsical creatures, has earned Romain more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, where he shares videos showcasing their design process.
