Dick Clark Productions says it has cut ties with the Miss America Organization over internal emails by pageant senior leadership that ridiculed past winners' appearance, intelligence and sex lives. The Huffington Post reported Thursday that the Miss America Organization's CEO, Sam Haskell (left), regularly exchanged expletive-laden emails in which he or others slut-shamed and name-called the young women. In the emails Haskell frequently used shocking and sexually-charged terms to refer to contestants, including 2013 winner Mallory Hagan (bottom right) and Gretchen Carlson (top right), the former Fox News anchor who won the pageant in 1989.

In an emergency session, the United Nations voted overwhelmingly on Thursday to condemn the U.S. for recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and pledging to relocate its embassy there. The vote was 128 to 9, with 35 abstentions. Only Guatemala, Honduras, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau and Togo joined the United States and Israel in opposing the measure. American ambassador Nikki Haley blasted anti-Israel member nations during a pre-vote debate, warning that there would be a price to pay for standing in President Donald Trump's way.

Eric Schmidt is to step down from his role as Google's parent company Alphabet's Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, it has been revealed. Schmidt, who joined Google in 2001 to act as 'adult supervision' for founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, will become a technical advisor to the company while continuing to serve on its board. 'Since 2001, Eric has provided us with business and engineering expertise and a clear vision about the future of technology,' said Larry Page, CEO of Alphabet.

Lauren Scruggs Kennedy wrote a statement on her website Thursday defending her husband Jason Kennedy following the social media backlash. Catt Sadler, 43, confirmed her departure from E! on Tuesday after learning that Jason, 36, 'was making close to double my salary for the past several years.' In Lauren's, 29, lengthy post she said is heartbroken 'that a network (that truly cares about its employees) is being deemed as sexist when that is simply not true.'

Charity Lee, inset, was at her waitressing job in Abilene, Texas, on February 5, 2007, when police arrived to tell her that her four-year-old daughter Ella was dead. The child had been stabbed 17 times by her brother, Paris, who was 13 at the time (left together before the attack). Paris picked up the knife and attacked his half-sister as she slept in her bed after convincing their babysitter to go home. He then called 911 and admitted to the killing. He later told his mother that he carried out the murder to 'destroy' her life. He was angry, he said, that she had briefly relapsed into drug use years earlier after getting herself clean. Paris is 24 now and remains behind bars in Texas where his mother, who has since had another baby, visits him regularly.

The frantic wife of a Texas father who disappeared after leaving to purchase a new car worries her family could be planning a funeral soon. Bianca Arias has called on the public to help in the desperate search for her husband, Alberto Arias-Nunez, 37, who mysteriously vanished December 13 after leaving the family's Cypress home, police say. It seems Alberto informed Bianca over the phone he was going to visit a friend that day at a body shop in Tyler - which is roughly a four hour drive from the city of Cypress.

An intimate black and white portrait of the newly-engaged couple embracing and deeply in love (center) was published by Kensington Palace on Thursday morning with an endearing but more formal picture of them sat together holding hands (right). Then a third portrait (left) was released two hours later as a 'candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings', with Kensington Palace saying the couple thanked well-wishers for their 'warm and generous messages'. The refreshingly warm photographs taken at Frogmore House, a private royal residence in the grounds of Windsor Castle, will be welcomed as a contrast to many of the more formal royal engagement portraits of the past. Celebrated fashion and celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski - who has snapped everyone from Julia Roberts to Angelina Jolie - was said by a body language expert to have captured the couple’s 'high levels of sexual attraction'.

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT - Police in South Florida are searching for a man who shot two dogs with a BB gun, leaving one of them dead, it was reported on Thursday. On December 3, an unidentified man (left) entered the yard of a home in the Pasadena Lakes section of Pembroke Pines. The man shot two golden retrievers, Madie and Max, with steel BBs. According to local police, surveillance video showed Madie (right), the female dog, dying in a pool of blood in a corner of the yard after she was shot.

Mark Schwahn (left) has been fired as showrunner from E! drama The Royals (cast shot, inset) following allegations of sexual misconduct from multiple women. Actress Hilarie Burton (right) was among 43 women who came out against Schwahn. She alleged he forcibly kissed her twice during her time working with him on One Tree Hill. Eighteen women from that show, as well as 25 women from 'The Royals,' accused Schwahn of varying degrees of sexual misconduct. 

Heather Huus, 32, is a mother from North Dakota who had a gastrectomy last year after a genetic test found she carried a gene that put her at an 83 percent risk of getting stomach cancer. She told Daily Mail Online that she made the decision because she didn't want her daughter Paige, five, to see her die of cancer like she did her mother. Now Heather cannot feel when she's hungry or full and has to snack every three hours, which caused her to lose 130 pounds.

WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: Parents of a 4-month-old girl say the child was attacked by a raccoon inside their Philadelphia home. Ashley Rodgers says the attack happened Wednesday night in the family's first-floor apartment located at North 22nd Street. Rodgers says she had taken her 6-year-old son to the bathroom while baby Jourini was asleep on a bed.

A Republican lawmaker who claimed that the estate tax imposed on her family after her father died in a farming accident left them in debt was not entirely truthful, according to documents whose contents were reported on Thursday. Kristi Noem (left), a Tea Party Republican who came into office in 2010 as a representative from South Dakota, neglected to mention that after her dad died in 1994, her mother received a life insurance payout in excess of $1million. President Donald Trump and the Republican-led Congress (right) passed a new tax law that would increase the number of people who are exempt from the estate tax.

WARNING DISTRESSING CONTENT: Colton Murray, the 23-month old who won the hearts of millions, has passed away. Colton, who rose to fame as an ambassador for children with Down Syndrome and the families who love them, died early Saturday morning at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. Colton's parents only discovered that he had Down Syndrome shortly after his birth in December 2015, it was discovered he had Down Syndrome. Colton also had one, instead of two, heart ventricles. Heart defects are common with a Down Syndrome diagnosis, although a single ventricle is rare. Following multiple open heart surgeries, Colton was one of 500 selected to appear in the National Down Syndrome Society's annual Times Square video presentation that helps kick off Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October .

Shani Grimmond, 20, used make up to make it appear she'd had face surgery. The Brisbane blogger used pomade to give her brows a 'Botox' lift and concealer for a 'two-second nose job'. She also used concealer to emphasize her cheekbones and left her lip liner darker than her lipstick to give the appearance of fuller lips as well.

Disturbing footage shows a man carrying two handguns, storming into an Ohio hospital's psychiatric emergency room, shooting a security officer and firing on police (left). The gunman fatally shot himself in the incident. Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot Isaac identified the gunman in the Wednesday afternoon shooting as Isaiah Currie, 20 (bottom right) of Cincinnati. In November Currie was arrested after firing rounds into a park and playground, injuring one (top right).  Some of the drama that unfolded at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center complex was captured on surveillance video and 911 recordings. The video begins with a calm looking Currie entering the hospital's sliding glass doors. 

President Donald Trump awarded the Purple Heart to 1st Lt Victor E. Prado on Thursday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in the soldier's hospital bed. Prado sustained wounds in action that left him hospitalized and an in a neck brace on Nov. 13, 2017. A video shared by the White House on social media Thursday afternoon shows the president presenting the soldier with the medal and shaking Prado's hand before he pins the Purple Heart on him. President Trump stopped by Walter Reed today  to spread Christmas cheer to wounded troops.

Brian Houston and his Mexican fiance got hitched during a Boarder Patrol approved wedding at the San Diego border- what authorities didn't know was the groom plead guilty to drug smuggling charges months earlier. Houston and wife to be, Evelia Reyes (right and left together), were approved to wed in a special ceremony at Friendship Park in November. Border Angels, a non-profit that organizes the event, says they never do the background checks, but provides applicants with a questionnaire. Those that applied are then federally background checked by Border Patrol. The groom said at the time they were marrying in the special ceremony because he could not cross the border- but declined to elaborate. He failed to mention his February arrest in which agents say they found 43 pounds of heroin, 47 pounds of methamphetamine and 43 pounds of cocaine in his Volkswagen as he crossed through the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

Social media users have shared a series of snaps of people being shamelessly inconsiderate at the expense of others. Several photos show terrible parking jobs, while another is written to angry neighbors, telling them to not throw trash out their window. In another, someone eats only part of every donut in a box, while one person pranks strangers by hiding only part of a $20 bill. Homeowners in New York City have angered their fellow neighbors with their epic festive lights display, igniting a Christmas war in the Brooklyn area. Several residents have decorated their front lawns with thousands of twinkling lights, massive inflatable Santas, candy canes and reindeers to celebrate the festive season, however some people aren't too happy with the display in the Dyker Heights neighborhood. 'This is a residential neighborhood - not Times Square!' President of Dyker Heights Civic Association, Vella-Marrone, said.

Alfra Martini, a digital artist from Brooklyn, New York, has dedicated a Tumblr site to re-imagined iconic album artwork featuring kittens in place of the musicians. Named The Kitten Covers, the idea for the site came to her after she wondered what David Bowie's Aladdin Sane artwork would look like with a cat in place of the musician. The site, which has since gone viral also features re-imagined albums by Nirvana, Queen, the Pet Shop Boys and Madonna.

Dogs and cats may be mortal enemies in the animal kingdom but for this dog knew when he had taken it too far during a play fight with his feline friend. Ski the golden retriever began showering Euclides the kitten in licks in apology after baring his teeth and cramming his head in his mouth during a play fight at their home in Modiin, Israel. Their owner Rafael Dazcal said that despite first appearances, Ski is a loving and gentle animal who is 'harmless' towards Euclides.

Brittany Mease, a single mother from Wylie, Texas, shared her hilarious story on Facebook on Monday. The mother-of-two explained she threw their Elf on the Shelf, Elfis, into the oven when her kids Gray, nine, and Ily, five, weren't looking and forgot about it. Brittany realized she was cooking the elf after she preheated the oven and started to smell something 'really funky' burning. The mother's relatable story quickly went viral, and it's been shared over 145,000 times.

A video shows a toddler crying when his father cuts down a Christmas tree. At first the child is happy and smiling in his mother's arms, but he quickly becomes distressed when his father turns on the chainsaw. His mom quickly consoles him, but can't stop herself from laughing. The video was filmed in Plumas National Forest, California.
