Chicago Stags
December 2, 2005 – The Chicago Bulls will celebrate the first professional basketball team in the city, the Chicago Stags, with a series of retro games as part of the NBA Hardwood Classics Nights.

In addition to the Bulls, 10 other teams will honor their history by commemorating specific historical events and milestones, the history of basketball in their city, or legendary teams and players by wearing uniforms from each decade of the NBA’s history, as well as having special ceremonies, in-arena entertainment and promotions.

On Monday, December 5, the Bulls will host the first of two home and two road games honoring the 60th anniversary of the Stags as they don uniforms depicting those worn by the original pro Chicago team from 1946-50.

To further honor the era of the late 1940s, the Bulls will debut its newest entertainment team, the Chicago Bulls Swingin’ Seniors, who will perform to music from their teenage era. Stag player Mickey Rottner will tip-off the event by presenting the honorary game ball and the entire evening will feature music, trivia contests and performances by other Bulls entertainment teams highlighting the late 1940s.

The Bulls will again compete in the Stags uniforms for road games versus the Washington Wizards on Saturday, December 10 and the Orlando Magic on Monday, April 17. They will host the second and last of two home Hardwood Classics games versus the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, February 22.

NBA Hardwood Classics Nights will tip-off December 4. There will be a total of 52 games scheduled; 16 of the 52 games will feature both teams wearing their HWCN uniforms; 16 of the 52 games will be televised on either ABC, ESPN, TNT or NBATV.
