A former star of the TLC reality show Gypsy Sisters has been arrested over claims she used bogus coupons to buy $18,000 worth of goods from Toys R Us.

Mellie Stanley, 28, was picked up by police in Lexington, Kentucky, along with her husband for the fraud scam.

It is not the first time Stanley, who was arrested under the name Mellie Lee, has been booked for fake vouchers after she and her sister were arrested for a similar scheme in 2014.

Police booked the former reality star for theft by deception, criminal possession of a forged instrument and unlawful access to a computer, according to TMZ.

It is also understood she tried to defraud Babies R Us.

The scam three years ago related to phony coupons she used at Target in North Carolina.

Randall Scott Vuncannon, who was her husband two years ago, has had a previous run in with the police too.

He was arrested in 2015 for allegedly killing Stanley's puppy during a heated argument when he threw the dog across the kitchen, according to TMZ.

Gypsy Sisters was a spin-off of My Big Far American Gypsy Wedding which gave an insight into the lives of Romanichal women in West Virginia.

Stanley appeared in all four seasons from 2013 to 2015.

She was an outcast in her family because she wanted to leave the Romani culture behind.
