And Busy Philipps showcased the impressive results of the diet program as she enjoyed a beach day in Mexico with her daughters Birdie, nine, and Cricket, four, on Wednesday.

The actress, 38, looked incredible as she slipped into a slinky black swimsuit with a cutaway design while soaking up the sun on her family winter vacation.

Looking fit and fabulous as she cooled off in the ocean, the Cougar Town star teamed her one-piece with a pair of retro-style shades.

Busy wore her pink-tinted locks in loose beachy waves and went make-up free for the day.

The actress posted a series of sweet snaps from her beach break as she enjoyed some quality time with her girls, who she shares with screenwriter husband Marc Silverstein, 46.

The Dawson's Creek star took to Instagram on Monday to share a photo of herself posed on the beach with Birdie in 2011, along with an image of them sitting on the same beach this year.

Busy was modeling a bikini in both images, but her waist and back were noticeably slimmer in the photo that was taken this week during her family's exotic beach-side vacation.

The star captioned the post: 'Me and the Bird. Same beach. 2011/2017.'

In November, Busy completed the Whole30 elimination diet, which requires followers to cut out gluten, dairy, legumes, soy, added sugars, and alcohol for 30 days in a bid to 'get serious' about her health.

'Honestly, after the election I was feeling like I wanted to get physically stronger,,' she told The Hollywood Reporter.

'That was my reaction. I didn’t want to eat junk anymore or be passive in my workouts. I just felt like it was time for me to get serious about my health and wellness.'

Busy revealed cutting out gluten, dairy, legumes, soy, added sugars, and alcohol forced her to find other ways to deal with her emotions besides eating junk food.

Although she doesn't weigh herself and was unable to give an exact number of how much weight she lost, Busy insisted that she could tell she had slimmed down just by looking at her face.

She said in a social media video: 'I think the thing that everybody really wants to know is how much weight I've lost because I think people are like, "Yeah, but am I going to lose weight?"

'I think you can see my face - I am definitely smaller. But I don't know how much weight I've lost. I don't weigh myself kind of as a thing for me.

'That's to keep my brain healthy, so I didn't even weigh myself before I started because it doesn't matter to me. Like a number is a number, and it will drive me crazy, so I can't.'
