They were embroiled in a shocking affair back in 2007 when she was married to his late son Bradley.

And now EastEnders' Stacey Fowler is set to reignite a steamy affair as she shares a passionate kiss with her former lover and ex father-in-law Max Branning in a shocking upcoming episode.

While his revenge plot takes hold of his life, Max has subsequently got closer with former squeeze Stacey - played by Lacey Turner - and it appears that the pair can't resist revisiting the past.

Fans of the BBC soap are set to witness the mother-of-two locking lips with Max in a steamy clinch on the kitchen floor after she reaches out to save him from himself.  

Despite her attempts to help him, Max - played by Jake Wood - becomes fixated on seeking revenge and it appears history could be repeating itself for the pair.

Speaking about the upcoming storyline, Lacey, 29, previously revealed that the Christmas Day episode will unearth some of the best action the soap has seen in recent years.

She said: 'I think it will be good and it will be explosive. The last one was the DVD and yeah, I reckon it could top that!'

Already a trailer for the highly-anticipated episode showed Max and Stacey’s relationship taking a nasty turn, with Jane Beale desperately trying to help her escape his vengeful clutches.

In 2007, viewers will remember Stacey and Max's sordid secret affair was finally exposed in an explosive Christmas Day episode.

The pair first enjoyed a steamy clinch during the 2006 festive season after the market stall trader was dumped by boyfriend Bradley - played by Charlie Clements. 

After ending their five-month affair in the summer, Stacey reunited with Bradley, who soon proposed and the young couple wed in November of 2007.

However, just before leaving for their honeymoon, Stacey and Max shared one last kiss - which unbeknownst to them was being filmed by his daughter Lauren's video camera, hidden on a shelf.

On Christmas Day, the newlyweds, the Slaters and Dot Cotton joined Max and wife Tanya - played by Jo Joyner - and their three kids to watch the wedding DVD.

After Bradley and Tanya are confronted with their spouses' infidelity, all hell broke loose as Tanya slapped Stacey across the face and told Max their marriage was over.  

And the heartbreak continued on for the pair ever since then as Stacey lost Bradley in 2010 after he accidentally fell off the roof of The Queen Vic as they tried to flee Albert Square and the police following her admission to killing Archie Mitchell.
