The former Broadchurch star looked glamorous at the event, donning a forest-green trench coat over a sleek black dress.

Still rocking her character's short blonde bob, Jodie opted for natural makeup and wore an array of comical jewellery including a necklace of a pair of sunglasses.

She completed the outfit with a pair of pointed black heels, accessorising with a simple bag adorned with a gold chain.

The musical features songs and rapping to tell the story of U.S Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton, originally played by Lin-Manuel Miranda in the Broadway show.

The story centres around the eponymous Hamilton who was a founding father of the country, and his rise to prominence ahead of and during the American Revolution.

The aide-de-camp to George Washington and the architect of the nation’s fiscal system, his face is still on the back of the country’s $10 bill.

Hamilton picked up a record 11 Tony awards in 2016, and has already received a sea of five-star reviews by UK critics upon its launch on Thursday.

Jodie is set to make TV history when she takes over from Peter Capaldi, 59, in the BBC Christmas Day special of Doctor Who.

The BBC have unveiled a teaser image of the new Time Lord strutting out of the famous TARDIS earlier this year.

The image shows Jodie stepping across a meadow of flowers, the time machine in the backdrop, with the sun rising slowly from the hills in the background.

The acclaimed actress looks edgy in The Doctor's trademark trench coat, sporting an ensemble beneath seemingly inspired by past Doctors Colin Baker and Tom Baker.

Jodie - who has starred in recent years in ITV's Broadchurch as grieving mother Beth Latimer and the BBC's unnerving medical drama Trust Me - is the 13th incarnation of the Time Lord.
