Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders reunited for a one-off special 300 Years of French and Saunders last night.

To mark their 30th anniversary, the pair sent up their own sketches over the years, and added in a few new ones.

But one particular sketch involving Poldark didn't go down well with viewers at all - causing some to switch off entirely.

Recreating their famous TV extras sketch, French and Saunders rocked up on the set of Poldark, where they met Eleanor Tomlinson and Jack Farthing - who play Demelza and George Warleggan in the BBC drama.

In the sketch, when the camera's cut, French and Saunders start quizzing Jack on whether he's been seeing the sights of Cornwall while filming Poldark.

Dawn said: "Have you been to Granny Wobbly's fudge factory?"

Jennifer asked her: "Wasn't your son something to do with that?"

And Dawn replied: "Yes, my son is a Fudge packer with friends in Dubai.

"I've never actually seen any evidence of the fudge, he doesn't bring it home - only the stuff that no one wants that comes out the back."

And viewers were far from impressed
Some said it was outdated
And some switched off completely

French and Saunders fans were furious about the "fudge-packer" remark, and took to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

One said: "Jokes about 'my son being a fudge - packer' just don't sit well in 2017, I'm afraid. I expected better of French & Saunders."

Another added: "300 years of # Frenchandsaunders 1975 called. It said don't use them fudge packer jokes, they're not in date."

A third fumed: "I was enjoying French and Saunders right up until the 'fudge packer' joke. No excuse that it was old material either. Switched off now."
