EastEnders: Sisters Abi and Lauren Branning SURVIVE initial fall as they are dramatically rushed to hospital after plummeting from roof in a bid to save suicidal dad Max... but is too good to be true?

They left viewers 'traumatised' after plummeting from the roof on the Christmas Day special of EastEnders as they attempted to save their suicidal dad, Max Branning.

But Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) and Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) still appeared to be breathing and clinging on for dear life on the Boxing Day episode of the long-running BBC soap - which ended in a nail-biting cliffhanger.

The sisters were seen being rushed to hospital after the shocking scene - while their dad Max (Jake Wood) was arrested by for Grievous Bodily harm to his daughters.

However, it looked like they were in a bad way as Abi was seen having a brain scan during the episode while Lauren bled out on the operating table.

The episode ended with a chilling cliffhanger after doctors told Tanya and Max: 'We need to talk about your daughter.'

Tensions are at an all-time high as the cast of EastEnders recently filmed a funeral scene. However, it is still unclear as to who will die.

On Christmas Day, suicidal Max was seen being talked away from the roof of the Queen Vic by his desperate daughters Abi and Lauren as he tried to jump.

And while he eventually agreed and attempted to make his way back to safety, both his daughters slipped in the pouring rain and plummeted to the ground.

The tense scene saw Max's daughters pleading for him to step off the roof. However chaos ensued when Lauren turned and lost her footing.
