'It keeps them street': Nick Knowles furiously hits out at the Gallagher brothers after Noel claimed the DIY SOS star's singing sounded like he was 'having a stroke'

He was met with criticism after Noel Gallagher compared his singing to sounding like he's 'having a stroke' on an upcoming episode of Alan Carr's Chatty Man.

And Nick Knowles responded to the singer's negative commentary on Saturday, claiming that hitting out at his talent keeps the Gallagher family 'street'.

In the social media post, the 55-year-old accused the duo of having a long history of pessimistic views as he tweeted: 'The Gallaghers have been slagging people off for decades.'

Taking to Twitter, Nick continued: 'Oh I’m not bothered... it’s their thing, keeps them street.'

The statement was accompanied with the hashtag '#jennyfromtheblock' - a reference to Jennifer Lopez's 2002 track on staying true to her urban roots.

Finished with 'zzz' and laughing emojis, the DIY SOS star appeared unconcerned as he shared the amusing remark over the weekend.

This tweet directly follows on from the Oasis singer's interview on  Alan Carr's Chatty Man, where Noel blasted Nick for his new album Every Kind Of People.

Set for release on Christmas day,  the 50-year-old musician compared his own album to Nick's new music compilation saying: 'My delivery is better than that. I don't sound like I'm having a stroke when I'm singing it.'

The older brother to Liam Gallagher, with whom he's had a long-standing feud, Noel then asked Alan whether the album was real.

Joining in on the digs, boisterous Chatty Man host Alan, added: 'His delivery was less album, more audiobook.'

The host then asked why people should buy his album, High Flying Birds and the northerner didn't shy away from praising himself.

Not for every kind of people: Noel wasn't a fan of Nick Knowle's album released earlier this year - it is the DIY SOS star's first venture into the music world

'I wrote all the songs myself…and it’s f***ing brilliant' he told Alan.

The singer, who said he had little time for TV stars who release Christmas albums, wore an all-black ensemble for his appearance on the show.

Being a bit of a Grinch, he then revealed he doesn't like Christmas either, explaining: 'I loathe it. I’m named after Christmas by two Irish people!'

Nick, 55, swapped his hard hat for the guitar earlier this year when he launched his debut album Every Kind Of People.

He said: 'I have a very different voice to pop, so it was important for me that this album had to come from me and was songs that I’ve played over the years.'

The album features him performing a host of covers from his favourite artists, including John Mayer's Your Body Is A Wonderland, You're The First, The Last, My Everything by Barry White and Here Comes The Sun by the Beatles.
