Fans were left 'traumatised' by the Christmas special on Monday night, which saw Jacqueline's character Lauren and her screen sister Abi (played by Lorna Fitzgerald) attempt to talk their suicidal father Max (Jake Wood) out of jumping off the pub roof.

However while he eventually agreed and attempted to make his way back to safety, both his daughters slipped in the pouring rain and plummeted to the ground.

The tense scene saw Max's daughters pleading for him to step off the roof. However chaos ensued when Lauren turned and lost her footing.

Desperate to keep her balance as she fell, she grabbed onto her sister Abi who also took the tumble from the roof.

Max was then seen frantically running downstairs and pushing his way through the crowds to attend to his daughters.

Stepping outside he saw them both unconscious on the ground. Viewers will have to wait to find out whether they survived the fall.
