Drug user involved in Home and Away fatal crash pictured

The driver who was involved in the triple-fatal car accident which left a Home and Away actress fighting for her life in hospital was a known drug user and had been jailed for driving offences. Craig Anthony Whitall, 50, who died in the horrifc Boxing Day crash along with Lars Falkholt, 69, and his wife Vivian, 60, had been jailed for driving while disqualified and was driving on P-plates, according to the Daily Telegraph . The smash on Princes Highway near Sussex Inlet in New South Wales left promising actress Jessica Falkholt, 28, and her sister Annabelle, 21, in hospital fighting for their lives. The Sydney Morning Herald reported Mr Whitall was driving home from a methadone clinic when the tragic incident occurred. Witness told police they saw Mr Whitall's white Toyota Prado cross the centre line twice before it crashed into the Falkholt's Mazda in a head-on collision. Sources told the Daily Telegraph Mr Whitall was 'well known' to police in Ulladulla and had a criminal history of more than 60 offences.

Salim Mehajer's gushing Instagram posts about 'girlfriend'

Salim Mehajer (left)has taken to social media to once again post photos of himself with a woman (left, right) who says she hasn't seen him for months. Constance Siaflas, a 25-year-old flight attendant who was romantically linked with Mehajer in 2016, has said the two are not even on speaking terms. Ms Siaflas' statements denying she is dating Mehajer came after the disgraced former deputy mayor of Auburn posted a snap of them together on December 23. The revelations do not appear to have phased Mehajer, who took to Instagram on Thursday night to post two more photographs. They followed a third posted on Thursday morning, posted by Mehajer with a caption questioning the statements made by Ms Siaflas and a friend on Sunday.

Point Cook Christmas Eve crash victims were brothers

The two men killed in a horrific triple fatality in Melbourne's west on Christmas Eve have been identified as brothers. The men, aged 37 and 40, were taking a new Audi 'out for a squirt' on Palmers Road in Point Cook about 7.30pm on Sunday, when they smashed into a Honda Jazz. Both men died, as did the 50-year-old female passenger of the other vehicle. Assistant Commissioner Doug Fryer, who attended the crash, told 3AW on Thursday it was a 'horrific scene'. '[The crash] ripped their car apart, the whole motor was ripped from the vehicle, the battery was 100m down the road,' he said.

'I wasn't wearing a lifejacket, but as NSW Maritime explained to me today when I called them, because I was in the dinghy alone, even for that very short distance the NSW regulations required me to wear one.'

Police are hunting four men of African appearance after an alleged violent robbery in which a woman was bashed and a car was stolen. Confronting CCTV footage (left) has been released, showing a group of five men approach two cars parked at a shopping centre in Sunnybank, Brisbane. A 22-year-old man (right) was arrested by detectives at 9am on Thursday, and will face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday. The occupants of the cars took shelter in a white Mitsubishi Magna, but were surrounded by the group of men. The group allegedly smashed a window, forced a door open, dragged a woman from the car and repeatedly punched and kicked a man. One of the men then allegedly snatched the keys to the other car and stole it before the other four fled the scene.

NEW A new online gallery has revealed cats who seriously regret their decisions in hilarious photos. In many cases felines in search of the perfect place to nap have ended up rather less comfortable than they hoped. Elsewhere curiosity really did get the better of some cats, with pets pictured with their heads stuck in some seriously tight spaces. Other agile kitties managed to shimmy up to gravity-defying heights, with no apparent hope of getting back down.

Real-life Transformers: $100,000 folding electric car modelled on shape-shifting robots is developed in Japan
