American singer and icon, Cher, is tipped to headline the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras next year.
The 71-year-old - who is known for hits including Believe and I Got You Babe - is reportedly close to being locked in to perform at one of the biggest parties of the year.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports a contract hasn't been signed yet, but sources have revealed she's likely to secure the gig.

Cher meanwhile, recently tweeted: 'Where am I going in March⁉️,' with the Mardi Gras being held around that time.
Co-chair of Sydney Mardi Gras, Brandon Bear, meanwhile refused to confirm if Cher would be performing, when asked by the publication.
At this year's bash, The Veronicas performed at the after party, going topless and covering themselves in glitter.

Cher meanwhile, announced in September that a musical based on her life, will hit Broadway next year.
The hit maker admitted she found it 'crazy, exciting and bizarre' to see her experiences come to life in a theatrical production.
'My life as a musical on Broadway. It seems crazy, exciting and bizarre - but that’s probably how my life seems to most people,' the Believe songstress said in a statement.

Cher has won a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, an Academy Award, three Golden Globe Awards and sold 100 million records worldwide.
She made her own Broadway debut in 1982 in Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean.
She's also set to make an appearance in the film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, which comes out next year.
