With the cold snap showing no sign of letting up, a cosy fur coat is the best way to wrap up against plummeting temperatures.

But even faux fur can come with a hefty price tag, with some high-end designers charging the equivalent of a house deposit for some of their sumptuous creations.

Luckily, high street retailers have clocked onto the trend and have rolled out a range of convincing lookalikes for just a fraction of the price.

Indeed, some are so convincing that at first glance you might struggle to tell them apart from the real deal - and with the Christmas sales in full swing many of their prices have been slashed to as little as £16.

So can you tell the pricey designer coats from their cut-price counterparts?
