Strictly Come Spending! Generous Claudia Winkleman looks chic in all-black outfit as she splashes the cash on festive toys for her three kids

She's been packing in the family time since wrapping up her presenting stint on Strictly Come Dancing with the dazzling final two weeks ago.

And Claudia Winkleman seemed keen to treat her three children to some presents over the festive period as she splashed out on a shopping trip at Toys'R'Us in London on Wednesday.

The presenter, 45, looked typically chic in monochrome outfit as she lugged some heavy carrier bags full of gifts for Jake, 14, Matilda, 11, and Arthur, six.

The London-born star kept her look casual for the relaxed outing, warding off the bitter December chill with a thick navy peacoat.

She completed her outfit with some simple black jeans and navy and white leather £450 Valentino trainers.

Styling her locks in her trademark tousled waves, Claudia opted for her signature make-up look with smudged khol eyeliner and nude lipstick.

Winkleman, who lives in London, went solo for the casual shopping trip and seemed to have had a successful outing as she carried several heavy bags.

She previously admitted she gets seriously 'obsessed' about Christmas and enjoys having a 'million people' round to her house for a festive meal.

'I love Christmas more than life itself… My house. A million people round. We eat steak, drink red wine and open presents,' she told Red magazine in 2014.

'People have to sit on the floor because my table seats six…. I bake cookies for the tree that all the kids write on. Our tree is singularly disgusting; it's all home-made stuff so it's physically repellent. But a big, real tree.'

She went on: 'I love the Christmas build-up. I like the comedown, too. I love Boxing Day. The food. The Lego. Kris and Jake will literally sit at the table for four days making something and I'll just bring them snacks in my pyjamas.'

She shares her three children with successful producer Kris Thykier, also 45, who she married in 2000.

Meanwhile, Claudia, who has fronted the successful Strictly series with co-host Tess Daly this winter, is used to taking centre-stage in front of the nation.

Discussing her pampering routine before going on TV, she admitted she was 'addicted' to fake tan and preferred to be a fetching shade of 'teak' at all times.

'I need my fix of an all-over whoosh of orange liquid once every couple of weeks,' she wrote in her column for the Sunday Times' Style magazine in June.

'Sometimes I opt for a really orange hue and sometimes (OK, let's call it once) I just like to waft past a mist of silky bronzed magic.

'A fake tan makes me feel enthusiastic, delighted with life and even (and trust me, this is big news) like leaving the house after 8pm.'

The admission comes after Claudia admitted she regularly leaves the house looking like she has ‘slept in a skip’ - because her mother, Eve Pollard, banned all mirrors from the house when she was growing up.

Speaking on stage at the In Conversation with Standard Issue event in London in January, Miss Winkleman said: ‘I was brought up by the strongest and most brilliant woman I’ve ever come across - my mum.

‘She was strong and fantastic and taught me everything I needed to know in being female. ‘We weren’t allowed any mirrors in the house, which would explain how I do my makeup... and the fact I look like I’ve slept in a skip.

‘I was 15 going out saying, "Mum, I need to know how I look, give me an idea!" She’d say, "fine"; she wanted to teach us that appearance is a waste of time, it’s not in the least bit important.

‘Read books, be funny, be clever, be chatty, this is how you make an omelette.... She was, and still is, my role model.’
