And Simon Cowell proved to be in high spirits as he took the jet-ski for a spin in the water during his annual festive Barbados getaway on Tuesday.

The music mogul, 58, was also joined for the adrenaline-packed activity with his stunning girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 40.

Simon was clearly in his element as she embarked on the fun activity - but not before putting on a protective life vest, which still managed to show a peek of his torso.

The X Factor judge complete the look with a pair of coral coloured swim shorts, as well a pair of green-tinted sunnies.

His other half Lauren looked every inch the beach babe in a classic black swimwear as she also harnessed herself up for safety.

With her slicked back brunette tresses and shades, Lauren looked to be having the time of her life as she indulged in the winter sun.

Generous Simon has invited a huge crowd of friends and family, to his favourite spot in Barbados for the extended break, with the group celebrating Christmas and New Year's together.

The media mogul has owned a property on the picturesque Eastern Caribbean island for a number of years.

In 2013, it was revealed Simon had been in a relationship with his then-best friend Andrew Silverman's wife Lauren, after pictures emerged of them kissing on a yacht.

The pair then welcomed their son Eric - a half-sibling for Lauren's eldest son Adam from her previous marriage - in February 2014, and named him after Simon's late father, who died in 1999.

And after vowing to take 'good care of himself' he appeared to be sticking to his word and has ditched vodka from his diet, as well as making a conscious effort to severely cut down on the amount of cigarettes he smokes per day.
