Balfe, who plays Claire Randall on the Starz sci-fi series, promised, 'We’re going to get back to working really hard on season four,' at which point the pair of performers pulled out bottles of champagne, with Balfe mimicking aiming the bottle toward Heughan.

'Have a happy holiday!' joked Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser on the show.

The third season of the series wrapped up earlier this year, as Claire and Jamie found themselves in America.

It's expected that the next frame of the series will be choc with different backdrops and performers as the storyline progresses.

The duo chat earlier this month with Entertainment Weekly, where they opened up about filming scenes underwater in South Africa for the program's final show of the year.

'We had this really cool water tank at the back of the Cape Town Studios,' Balfe said. 'Sam and I had done some underwater scuba training so we could stay underwater, and they would just come and feed us oxygen every 30, 40 seconds.'

Heughan praised Balfe as 'very good' at the complicated filming sequence, comparing her to 'a mermaid.'

Balfe noted that she had fun rolling on the innovative sequence.

'Things like that are always really exciting, and to sort of learn something new … it was quite cool until Sam rammed my face into a big chunk of wood,' she said.
